This is my audition for a very cute Common Dormouse that I would love to have! I've never thought of having a mouse character, but now that the opportunity has arisen, I really want one! So cute <3
Name: Lyn
Age: Definitely could not find the aging of a dormouse, but she would be around the age of a "tween". Equivalent to an 11 or 12-year-old
Gender: Female
Species: Common Dormouse
Height: 2.6 in long with a tail that is 2.4 in long. I couldn't find the average height, unfortunately.
Weight: 18 grams
Personality: Considering that Lyn is still very young, she's a very fun, loving and outgoing little mouse. Despite this, she is not obnoxious, but rather very considerate of others. She's very kind, and likes to do whatever she can to help her friends. Although she's small, she has a big personality, and appears to be unafraid of everything, when in truth she is just as timid as any other mouse, though this show of confidence has saved her on several occasions. As she goes into that "teenage" stage, she'll start contradicting herself and trying to understand who she really is, and other drama like that. Her personality will turn a little more rebellious, but she will still be kind and loving underneath. Once she has surpassed all her mood fluctuations, she will be a wise, compassionate, and fun adult. She treats everyone with respect, and loves to offer her advice to others.
Backstory: Like most of her kind, Lyn was born in Britain, and spent the beginning of the life there with her parents and her many siblings. When they were old enough, her and her siblings left home to go find their own place in the world, and to start a life of their own. Lyn had always wanted to see all that she could, so she took to wandering the earth, enjoying the scenery. Her journey was littered with many adventures, but one is more prominent than all the others. One day she stumbled across a strange, and large, creature. Others called it a "dog", and much to her surprise, this dog was really nice. She called herself Whisper, and she was kind to the mouse, despite their size differences. The dog asked if Lyn would like to stay with her, and so she did, and is now almost always seen riding on Whisper's back, or sitting nearby watching her train with the other army dogs. Whenever Whisper wears her army vest, Lyn stays in one of the pockets, so she can be with her canine companion at all times.
Plans For Use: First and foremost, she will be an adorable companion for my fursona, Whisper! I will be sure to include her whenever I draw my fursie, and I can see her becoming very important to me. Secondly, she will probably become an rp character of mine, as well.
Extras: She has a British accent
Wish me luck~

Thanks! I'm glad you like it <3 I love this little mouse, and it'll give me an opportunity to venture outside my horizons. Surprisingly, I didn't have to use a reference. They're pretty simple creatures. And just seeing your gallery has made me want to make a mustelid! You should make a tutorial on the basics of their anatomy, I'd love to learn.
Anywho, hopefully I'll get her! I love her cute little face <3 and her British accent! I love British accents lol.
Long comment is long.

I agree, mice are fairly simple, but oh so fun to draw <3 and completely different than, say, wolves or horses. Mice are so underrated.... haha, you should try drawing a mustelid, they're fun! I have considered making a tutorial, and maybe I will, someday when I find a way to explain the way their body is built. there are plenty of anatomy and drawing books on dogs, cats and horses, but I have yet to find one that includes mustelids or rodents
sad..
British accents! our English teacher tries to teach us British english instead of American english, haha I love the British accents xD

Yesss, they're so cute and little and funnnn. I want one now haha. Mice need more love. I might attempt mustelids sometimes, it depends on where my muse goes xD though I might draw a red panda first, I love those. Like the one in your avatar <3 I always find myself watching it run haha. So hypnotizing...
anywho, I hope you're able to find a book. I don't think I've seen one either... they need more attention, like mice pff.
British accents are the best. I can mimick them pretty well, so sometimes I'll start talking with a British accent and my friends will just stare at me xD

I wish I could have a couple of rats, but my dad's allergic to them ah, musties, red pandas, I love them all
the only book I managed to find was "drawing wildlife" by J.C. Amberlyn, it contains a small section with mustelids and rodents

aww but birds are awesome too their feathers are soo soft <3 my granny used to have parakeets, funny little critters they are! Her last one would often fly around in the room shouting "Croaaa Cor coffee!!" (Cor was one of her friends) haha, so funny xD
it is a very nice book, it has a lot of tips to build up animal drawings. Also there are some kind of animation shots to illustrate, say, a coyote's walk. Really nice. this is the link to it on Amazon
