This is the kind of picture that just doesn't appear on DA that much. It's like it's carrying a lot of emotion. Quite an old picture too, I hope the child is quite healthy.

Ok Seriously I dont understand why everyone thinks this picture is so GENIOUS. I see stuff like this all the time its called PORNOGRAPHY OMG WOW SO BRILLIANT..
And before anyone replies with "Oh you dont know art" or "You dont have a sense of humor" or yada yada or all the other bullshit, EXPLAIN to me in why this peice is so brilliant.
there is another online art community called renderosity, and the only reason some of the pictures got RAVE comments is because they were NUDE or hot women... Come on now people, seriously give me a better explenation as to why this picture is so great.

i respect you for your honesty. "to each their own."
But I have always had trouble tolerating such ignorant, arrogant and heartless people as yourself. You are rude in your approach to criticizing photography and lack the education or experience to be so critical. Have you studied photography and it's history and aesthetics?? I understand you've studied pornographic photography but I'm asking about other areas of the art.
Should I assume, however, that you are well-read on the Renaissance [spelled correctly]and know it's basis in technological and creative advancements in not just painting techniques but the entire art world? Do you know about any other technological advancements in art ? potters wheel? computers? digital animation? electric guitars? film?
I see no reasons why using creativity, technology and light instead of paint to make art should be so belittled.
An educated respectful being would know better than to make such a rude ignorant comment...especially on the wrong photograph. I believe you were referring to: [link]

Pornography is designed to arouse people's sexual desires. This piece was not entered under 'artistic nude' or any other similar category. It is an emotive portrait, designed to communicate an interpretable emotion. I do agree on the fact that many people on this website present stupidly voyeuristic, talentless pictures, but this is not one of them.
By what you've said, I assume you've never tried taking a decent photo. Composing a scene whilst managing the aperture size, shutter speed and possibly modifying the ISO speed to suit your needs can require many years of practice in order to achieve desired results.
And asides from the technicalities of taking a photo, there's composing the scene to suit your needs, such as getting a model to bend over a horse. Can you find many people willing to do that? Believe it or not, there is such thing as a surrealist photograph.
The definition of art is entirely subjective. You may hate it, you may love it, but it's ridiculous to say something is not art.

I would have to say this is my favorite from all of your photos so far. Their all really good, truly. But this one, I don't know, I just like it a lot. Theirs such beauty within it... I do not think this young girl is dumb by chosing not to end her baby's life. So many teens have abortions. This girl is one of the few brave ones. The deserves some major clapping!! You go, girl!
