Description Magpie is probably one of my oldest characters. As a child I guess I could even say that Magpie was my imaginary friend.
I was looking at the various pictures on my bedroom walls (my walls are literally covered from floor to ceiling) as I am one to do when I need inspiration. The way it works is that I draw something, it goes on my wall, and as I go on I sometimes pick things to re-draw and occasionally this means that a character gets a complete tune up or new design, the new image replaces the old one and so on.
This was the one I picked a few days ago.
A very, very old and really very badly drawn picture of my absolute favorite and first serious dragon character.

Magpie needed re-designing. His old self was incredibly ugly. Funnily enough i never imagined him ugly and therefore I figure the old picture was an inaccurate representation and he deserved a new one.

This is what happened.
Some characteristics are the same. Th ear ring for example, and the feathers on his head and chest. I even kept the horns based on the same design and he had always had feathered wings so that was essential.

The old picture had no legs or tail, so I had a bit of a play with those. Remember days when you couldn't draw paws or claws so you conveniently left them out? ;3

So here is Magpie all shiny and new!

Here's a request for anyone that fancies a bit of a lark - If you had an imaginary friend when you were little, draw them! And if you didn't, make one up?

Why not, eh?

Done in Open canvas. I can't remember exactly how long it took because it was done in bits over a few days. =/

Design is mine. Please don't re-use or distribute this as your own. No one likes an art thief.

I like this combination, since Dragons and Magpies both have an attraction to shiny things.

Thank you so much! They took forever. At one point I'd already drawn and coloured them and realised that the farthest wing didn't look right in that it was too long by quite a bit. D= That was a pain.

Thank you! My only regret is not having a better programme than Open Canvas but I'll be at Uni soon and I'm sure I can sniff out a programme from them, I could maybe have added some shading with a decent one. Otherwise I'm really very proud of him.
I appreciate the possitive comments.
And don't worry. This new Magpie's got my inspiration pulsing so there'l be more of him soon, no doubt.
