Ok. *DEEP BREATH* let’s begin

So, the past few weeks every time I do art, I’m not happy with it. After I finished page 5 of chapter 2 I just stopped working. I didn’t want to draw anything. It’s been 4 days almost 5 since I gave actually drawn something. And your probably thinking, well, that’s like…hardly any time?
It is for me, since I draw literally everyday.

But I just…I went through this just a little bit ago and I hate it!

So I went to my sister BriTeya to get some advice since I was pretty lost this time round. Nothing seemed to look good, my last two pages of the comic (4,5) I hated, and it just seemed something was MISSING.

She took one of my sketches (the one above and colored it and lined it) So I went off that and did my own version. Hers helped so much!

As we sat down and talked I realized there’s a lot of things I need to change. So here’s what changing and it’s all featured in the piece above and few other things too.

1: Word Bubbles.

You probably noticed the word bubble right away. It looks good doesn’t it? Enough with the color themed word bubbles. It looks messy and weird.

2: Backgrounds
im going to start drawing my own backgrounds for my comic. I will still be using them from the show *cough* indoors/buildings* cough
But will be doing my own backgrounds by in away redrawing them. Example of this coming soon. That way it fits my art better.

3: Detail
I already knew this and told myself to do it but never did. *SIGH* And it’s adding more detail. My art needs it. But not a ton. I just added a few different pieces to the art like a strand of hair color or a little bit more detail to the markings. Little more detail to the wing and changing the design. Over all, I think even though there small details, it adds a lot.

4: SHADING
UGGGHHHH. I HATE to admit but my art needs shading. I absolutely HATE shading. But most of it comes down to me just not liking the way it looks. SO, after help from my sister and how to find how it can look right, even if it’s super basic with a few shading here and there, it looks great! I really think it adds to the character and makes it pop out more.

5. Colors
My colors don’t blend. There’s so many characters that’s are saturated or too bright and doesn’t fit with the background. So here Dusks colors just slightly changed to become brighter and not so dull. Most of my characters will go through this change.

6: Lineart
I didn’t do a great job with this as it’s still a struggle for me to do so. And it’s making different widths into the line art. I did it a little bit but it’s still definitely a work in progress! Over all, I just need to SLOW DOWN. More so to make it look right, why rush right?

Overall, I’m stuck between what I want my art to be and I have been stuck like that since I started growing two years ago. I feel I’m getting closer to what I want!

So these are the changes. Not drastic but enough to make it LOOK drastic.

I really like it. And because of this, I am redoing pages 4 and 5 of chapter 2 before I keep going with the comic.

The comic is going to slow a tad as I start working of Dusk Verse more to help me with my style and get good at it.

But that’s about it. I hope you like it as much as I do. I feel it just really needed a little bit of spice
