I think that applying some mist to the background layer behind the male figure would help this image, that and some blurring of the background. The values of many of the compositions elements are so close together that the eye has no place to come to a stop. Also the line of the weapon points towards that bright sparkle highlight which then fights with that almost white building in the background, with no elements to help get the viewer moving back through the image because everything is so vertical back there. Generally the viewer wants to focus on the face, but the contrast and detail in the background elements as well as the shoulder and chest panels have stronger appeal because the face looks blurry and has very little modeling of form or contrast. As the artist, you have the power to direct the viewer to what you want them to look at, but it seems like you have left that on the table and as the viewer I feel like I'm wandering around the image with no particular place of interest to stop and hang out. Punch up your focal point and allow the other elements to fall away with blurring and atmospheric perspective.

Thanks for the feedback ! I made several changes to this pic, taking your advice into account. Hard to direct the viewer's eye with such a composition, and this few elements! i thought maybe doing a close up on his face would get rid of all the empty space around him, and let the eye flow more easily on the pic... Need to try that sometime! Anyway, it's obviously still far from perfect, but hope that's at least a lil bit better now!
