Description General Modula from Sym-bionic Titan.

For some reason I have an intense interest in this villain.

Drawn in red pen, inked in micron, colored in photoshop.

that's not a fist bump: it's the last thing you'll ever see as his fist flies towards your face.

I no!! My computer!!!

Critique- Perhaps changing the background...? Make it more spooky...? Sorry, first critique...

Hehe.

Ooh, I've had some critique about the lighting, but you're right the green isn't as spooky or effective as I thought it would be.

I'll have to try this with some more coloring and such.

If there is any critique to be had, it's just some shading issues. The glove (which, obviously is SUPPOSED to be shiny) just comes off as a pinch too bright. The visor shading came out a bit more pleasing to the eye, and you might want to look there for inspiration. The blue works great.

The cape should probably be AT LEAST as dark as the chest region of his clothes, being that it's behind him and thusly receiving less light. The beard looks prety good, if you want to make it better you can erase some of the darkness at the tips inside to make the dark lines daggeredat the end.

Other than that, I'd just lighten up the gloves a bit so we can see his fingers defined more clearly, and move up the lighting on his helmet (it feels low. The light source may be accurate, but for me it's about feeling)

I like the piece, and certainly don't aim to be discouraging. I hope my criticisms don't offend!

Haha, fist buuuump! That's neat. XD

My critique for you iiis: Try shading without using that tool that makes things lighter (I forgot the name of it ;n; ). It's easy to use, so challenge yourself instead! c:

Dodge? And may I ask the reason why I wouldn't want to use it? As it's very likely the reason why you think I shouldn't use that is caused by the blending options rather than the tool itself.

Thanks for the feedback!

Yay Ponyo! watched a bit of that yesterday as it was on Starz OnDemand.

Oh yeah, dodge!
I'd say it's better to do lighting with colors, rather than tools like burn and dodge.. though come to think of it, I suppose it's just personal preference XD

And np c:

I do like shading through colors.

So far I've not really figured out how to use it appropriately, so right now I'm expiramenting with the burn and dodge tools as I know others I like use it and it was also a suggested tool in my college classes.

College? Fancy! Haha, I'm sorry if I'm coming off a little strange! Regardless of tools, it's still rad BD

I was supposed to try shading with colors in my more recent harpy pic I just submitted, but I ended up liking the colors that came out from burning.

I know I've been told to shade with color too, in some center of education, I just don't recall which.

Hee, I don't even like shading.

The "mental tailons" picture? I think that whatever was done there (burning, colors) looks really great! It suits the lines a lot better imo. c:
