!!!Download please!!!Dear Santa... Next year I want as a Christmas present the Doctor, Gil Grissom, Terry Pratchett's Death, some mushrooms and digital painting skills...
... Okay, I probably shouldn't have written that, because quite likely people think now I've totally lost my mind. Oh, well... Here's a pic of Lugia (in my laptops wallpaper-size!), because I told Skudde a while ago that I'm going to do a pic of this Pokémon. And I was testing a new way of doing shadings, yay! I'm quite happy with them, and with that sea, but those clouds on the background may need a bit of fixing... >.>' And yeah, never tell me that Lugia is a bird... Feathery wings (i.e. wings of a bird) on a creature that hides itself in the bottom of the sea? I bet Lugia's wouldn't be that stupid...

Oh, PS: If lugia is the "Protector of the Sea", and Ho-oh is the "Guardian of the Sky", then... I guess that makes Regigigas the "Defender of the Land"! XD I mean, come on, most people don't notice the obvious harmony Regigigas has with these other two. All three of them are the master of a trio, too. If there was a pokemon "Bronze Version", it would have regigigas on the cover! XD You should totally draw him. I LOVE your art, and it would be cool to see what you would make him look like.

Despite the fact i agree Lugia is no bird I must counter your feathers in the sea comment there. PENGUINS! (plus it could serve to keep warm, after all it's cold down there)

Like I mentioned in one comment before, I meant WING feathers, like the ones flying birds have (I referenced with that to those fan arts of Lugia where he indeed has wings like a bird... They just wouldn't work on Lugia.)

You're not alone on that belief. XD Some people tell me that Lugia is a bird, but I think he's more of a Wyvern-type Pokemon, with a tad bit of bird in there. He's more like a Dragon to me though. I like the way you've dipicted him in your picture.

And yup, I also think he's more like a wyvern-kind of Pokémon... Maybe Lugia has a plumage and quite sharp "beak", but I don't really see more birdish features in him... >.>'

sorry this message took so long to reply to, but I think you did awesome. The first time I did the moon was in pastels and I'd have to say that it was the best thing I've ever drawn (moon wise haha). I am now obsessed with the full moon. Just a few days ago I think it was sunday night I didn't go to bed until 2 in the morning because I kept looking at the moon and talking about guys to my friend. haha she said I was stalking the moon and boys.

The first Pokemon game I ever picked up (Actually, the first portable game I had ever gotten.) was Crystal (So my Pokemon game obsession began.). And no problem!

Eiköhän se Lugia ihan Nintendolle kuulu. :') Game Freak tekee GB-/DS-pelit, mutten tiedä loiko tiimi lopulta yhtäkään pokémonia...
Kuitenkin itse kuvasta, en keksi uutta sanottavaa, kaikki on jo tullut aiemmissa kommeissa. Sanattomaksi vetää muutenkin tällaisen taiteesta oikeasti mitään tietämättömän, en näe ainuttakaan virhettä itse toteutuksessa. Tausta on komea, ja häkellyttävän hyvin olet saanut kokonaisuudesta "suuren", sellaisen jonka aina näkee visioissaan ennen työn aloittamista, mutta kadottaa tavallisesti toteutuksen aikana osaamattomissa käsissä.
Kyllä tämä on eräs suosikkejani kaikista näkemistäni töistä juuri fiiliksensä ansiosta. Joku voi tehdä vaikka kuinka yksityiskohtaisen kuvan, mutta jollei siitä löydy tällaista mahtipontisuutta, ei se säväytä ollenkaan samalla tavalla.

Itseasiassa se ilmeisesti on tuo Pokémon Company, jolle Pokémonit kuuluu (tai on ainakin joskus kuulunut). En kyllä tiedä onko Nintendo sittemmin syönyt ne omistusoikeudet o.o Who knows...

Koska nintendo toimii tuottajana kaikessa Pokémoniin liittyvässä (paitsi niissä harvoissa lisenssiroskissa), uskoisin myös oikeuksien kuuluvan yhtiölle. En itse asiassa edes muista Pokémon Companya, ostiko Nintendo kenties studion ennen sen ensimmäistäkään julkaisua, vai perustiko se sen itse?

I think the clouds are really good actually :] They work for the way you painted the rest of the picture. You probably could have softened the edges of the clouds just a tiny bit, but honestly, I think they look fine ~
The moon is a little too geometric, if that makes sense. Maybe add in a little more shading or craters to it and give it some dimension :] My favorite part of the whole thing though is definitely how you stylized Lugia's wings and gave him membrane type things. It definitely makes sense, him living underwater and whatnot ;]

Hmm, yeah, softening those edges of the clouds could have worked... If I wouldn't have softened them then too much...
Haha, that moon is anyway totally hoorible xD I think I'm going to edit that whole thing when I learn to paint proper moons. This time I just messed it up somehow everytime I tried to add more shades on it.
I wasn't able to think of any other kind of wings when making the sketch, as I really don't want to draw bird-like wings on Lugia... So I'm glad to know you like the way those wings look like, then
