Description
More about my favorite mythology. Norse God Loki isn't an easy subject: he kept hiding my tools until he was more or less happy with my sketch - or, at least, not blatantly UNhappy anymore.About the colors: I was pretty sure he had long, black hair way before the MCU movies established that look for Marvel character Loki. Actually his skin should be really white, so the light blue shade is more artistic license than anything else. I think as a whole he didn't want to be depicted as overly human-looking, and the red eyes also make him stand out from the other gods.
And yes, I believe he's connected with spiders.

This is really stunning. I love his expression, the way his hair melts into the background and the beautiful symbol design.
I'm an Indo-European Linguist and read about the spider-connection to Loki somewhere...I don't remember what Scandinavian language it was, but there was one where Loki was a name for spider. Is that your reason for the spider-connection or the metaphor of spinning a net? Just being curious.

Both fascinating and absolutely gorgeous! (And I say that despite my spider-phobia. *grins*)
