CAUTION SPOILERS!!!! At last, the Brave pic I promised to finish! One of my favorite scenes from Brave was when they were fishing by the river.
Took much longer than I thought though. ._.So, I kinda tried a different style here. I've been trying to expand my artistic "confort zone", so I chose to try something different. This style was inspired alot by the works of Gustav Klimt, who had a pretty different style from what I usually paint, so it was difficult figuring everything out. Klimt hardly painted animals or landscapes, so I also had to be a bit creative in that sense too. Hopefully it doesn't look too awful.
But overall I'm happy with this. Especially how Elinor turned out (I had few refferences of her as a bear, but BY CELESTIA I DID IT!!!). Sadly, Merida isn't so accurate. :< Hopefully her hair makes up for it because it's so much fun to draw!

I think the bear and landscape turned out simply marvelous. If this is Elinor, her face looks exactly like Merida's. I like the hair style, though the overlay of sharply contrasting color lines feels a bit distracting, a bit too over layed rather than worked in as a highlight. Otherwise, for exploring a new style I'd say you did an awesome job!

This is AMAZING!!! Brave is my favorite animated movie right now, and this is one of the only pictures I have seen that have done the movie justice! I love Merida's hair!

Awesome. These two do have a strong relationship, and that's what we want in kids movies....
Although, I've been noticing a trend going on in recent kids movies.... Why do the mothers always seem to be the ones in peril? Think about it: Coraline's mom got captured by an evil version of herself, Arrietty's mom was taken prisoner by a weird looking housekeeper, and now we got.... Merida's mom transforming into a bear.....
Geez, I know you gotta have some kind of conflict in kids movies but come on, leave the mothers out of it for once.
But overall, I still enjoyed it. It may not be one of Pixar's finest, but it's still a very fun movie.

You've probably gotten this a bunch of times already, but I really like the style you used for this picture. Most of all I really like how you did Merida's hair. Very stylized, but it works!
