It's been too long since I painted a crossover. Forgot how fun they are.
I really wanted to draw 2 ponies I haven't drawn before. I realised I haven't drawn Rarity much, and Blueblood doesn't have much fanart, so I drew the two. I've also been listening to alot of Phantom of the Opera music lately.
Now, before you all take up arms against Rarity X Blueblood, I wanna say I myself am on the fence with them as a couple. I mean, obviously she hates him in the series, yet there are so many comics/pictures/stories of the two making up that it's difficult to think of them otherwise. So...yeah, I'm just on the fence with them.

I think Blueblood might have matured after Rarity put him in his place. In "Sweet and Elite" they appear to be friends now, and if that's the case it would mean Rarity has forgiven him. I think that if he learned his lesson and decided to become a real gentelcolt, a relationship with Rarity could work.

Exactly what I was thinking! (Though she seems to be missing the odd spots of annoyance we saw at the gala.) Yet the only explanation I've heard others say is 'This happened BEFORE the gala' (And Rarity's writing the friendship report? Wasn't that season 2 only?)
I hope she sees now that *everypony* in Canterlot is like that.

I first seen the Phantom in seventh grade and let me tell you it was a fight! The teacher kept telling me that because I was the youngest 8th grader, I wasn't entitled to go with the rest of the class over the bridge and into Toronto to see the Phantom. Her exact words were written in a letter I gave to my parents when they came to pick us up to go out for lunch 'Although your son Ryder and daughter October are very hard workers and have accumulated well over $30,000.00 each for a grand total of over $60,000.00, I regret to inform them that neither one of them can be permitted to leave the states as they are far too young to go on such expeditions. I am returning to them in the form of two checks,their fair share of thirty thousand dollars. I do apologize but it is for their own safety that they are denied the privilege of joining the rest of the class on the trip to Toronto.' Well lets just say my dad's known for two things (1) His Irish roots and (2) His Irish Temper. He let it rip and didn't care if he was interrupting, he banged the classroom door open and let out a holler of 'Who the hell do you think you are you hoity toity bitch? Denying MY children the right to go with the rest of these kids! Who the hell do you think you are? How many other kids are you denying the right to go see the Phantom huh? Oh is THAT your game? Alright then, how many other people in this room are NOT going to see the Phantom in Toronto?' There were four rows of kids who had their hands up and he said 'Well if your teacher won't take you to Toronto with the rest of her elite snobs, then I'm more then happy to take you guys! I'll have permission slips and explanatory notes drawn up when I get back to work and have them distributed to all of you. But first I need first and last names of you and your parents so that I can have the letters personalized to your parents. Toby will bring them back after lunch and hand them out to those of you who are denied the right to go with the rest of the class.' I did I brought back letters for four rows of kids to take home explaining that the teacher and school board felt they were far too young to travel to Toronto to see The Phantom and that my dad's company was going to fly them first class to Toronto all expenses paid. All the issued permission slips came back signed and the day before the 'elite students' left for their school bused trip to Toronto,the other kids and their parents were flown to Toronto and put up in a five star hotel and caught that days performance of The Phantom using their hard earned money to buy souvenirs and after they ate at the best five Micheline starred restaurant then returned to the Hotel. The next day the other kids showed up stiff and cramped from sitting on the school bus since 4:00 A.M. they took one look at us and said 'When? When did you guys get here?' I simply said 'When did we get here? We've been here since yesterday morning! We've already been to the Pantages Theater to see the Phantom,had a wonderful dinner and now we're going to Canada's Wonderland for the day!' They were miffed that they only had a few hours to shop,have lunch,go to the theater,the go have supper and go back to the Theater for the start of the Phantom of the Opera then get back on a cramped bus and drive back to the states while we were enjoying ourselves at Canada's Wonderland courtesy of my dad's company whose daughter was one of the kids deemed too young to accompany the rest of the class.

I'm not much of a Phantom of the Opera fan, so I can't say I totally get the symbolism or overall theme...
Anyway, Rarity's dress detail looks very nice!
