"Are you sure you won't reconsider, my love?" Ari asked, still behind the changing screen. Garrett leaned against the bedframe as he chuckled. "My apologies, Ari, but I'm still trying to shut the other guards up about those bird costumes from Iris' masquerade. Besides, costumes aren't really my thing." He plucked at the collar to his black tuxedo as he waited. "Suit yourself," the princess replied as she stepped out from behind the screen. Garrett glanced up, and his heart nearly stopped at what he saw.

There stood his Ari, wearing an incredibly gorgeous costume. Her pale skin was on display with the short skirt, the bare midriff, and the low shoulders. The entire outfit bore shades of ebony and violet, but most impressive were the delicately sheer wings that almost seemed to flutter behind her. Staring at her, Garrett couldn't tear his eyes away.

"Well," she asked, "how do I look?" She did a small twirl before him, her movements as graceful as any true fairy's. Garrett shook off his initial surprise before taking her hands. He looked her up and down. "You look incredible!" He exclaimed. "I almost didn't recognize you, love!" She giggled, the wings bouncing slightly with her movements. "You really like it? I was worried it would be too much." He brushed a golden curl from her face. "You look so much like a fairy. The wings! How did you ever manage them?" She smiled and looked at them in the nearby mirror. "To be honest, Raina did help me with them. They're not real wings, but she helped me make them look real."

Garrett smiled, but then his eye caught the small tattoo she had painted on her side. "A butterfly?" he asked. Ari's own smile faded as she looked down at it. "For Zarina," she said solemnly. Garrett kissed her forehead softly. "Please, do not fret, my love," he murmured to her. "I'm sure she will be found soon. Safe and sound." The princess looked up at him, her smile beginning to return. "I pray you're right."

The queen proposed a little contest for the kingdom. A lovely masquerade for Halloween. So, here is everyone's favorite Petal Princess as a gorgeous Dark Fairy. I just have to point out, this is the first time I've ever made an outfit almost entirely out of Drag and Drop, not to mention the first time I've ever done Ari showing her midriff. As stated in the scene, the butterfly tattoo is Ari's way of honoring Zarina, who, at the time that I post this, is still missing. The wings were heavily inspired by momo5522 's "Wings For A Night" series, hence Ari stating that Raina helped with them. And, of course, there are lots of pretty roses because, well, she is the Petal Princess, after all! I really hope you all like her!!
