Description Oh he's finally done ;_; I've been working on this guy on and off for about 6 months! He's been through alot of changes, but he finally told me in the end that he wanted to be a timber wolf XD

He's about 13 inches long from nose tip to butt and is made of minky and faux fur fabrics with a faux leather nose. Eyes are hand-painted acrylic domed eyes and all coloration is done with copic marker. Legs have inner wire structure for added stability and weight.

You did the coloring with copic markers? That's amazing! It's also good to know I'm not the only one who uses markers on plushies.

Just a question, have you ever used a real fox tail for your plushies? Just wondering, since one plushie that you made, the tail looked really similar to my fox tail.

oh yeah! markers or airbrushing is totally the way to go.

And I've used a red fox tail once on a plushie, its for someone's trade plush, but i'm currently collecting a number of real tails so i can incorporate them into future works It creates a really neat effect for the fur lovers out there

One of my friends thought it was weird when I told them that I use markers on my plushies when I can't find the right colors or thread.lol

Once, my Umbreon used to have a real black fox tail, but I ended up removing it since, I guess the anti-fur people's opinions kind of got to me. I take my Umbreon to school with me to advertise my plushies, but one of my friends had a "no fur" pin on their backpack, and it kind of made me feel bad. But lately I keep thinking about putting it back on my Umbreon, because I like the effect it gave.

Well there's always going to be fur lovers and fur haters out there, but the important thing is don't let other people influence the way you make your art. Art is an expression of your feelings and thoughts, and if you hold those things back then your art will never be as fulfilling. So i say go for it if you want to experiment with real fur ^^ some people may not agree with you, but there will always be those that do as well!

Oh my gosh, you MADE that?! That wolf looks amazing!! He reminds me of my collectors doll wolf I got at FAO Schwartz in New York, I think it's made by Steiff? I can't read the tag, haha, I don't know what the letter is after the "S", but it's some German brand. Collector's quality dolls, not toys. And that wolf cost me a pretty penny! But even so, yours is MUCH more detailed and has more beautiful markings for sure! Wonderful job with the realism! Maybe you should market to FAO Schwartz, haha XD

Aww, they did? If so that's a shame...but I wouldn't know...I only went to that store once, and that was back when I was in the 8th grade (wow, doesn't seem like it was that long ago...).
Glad you saved the pattern! haha How much would one of these guys go for? (just curious...and interested, haha)

FAO only has one store in NY city now, i think. the one in San Francisco has been closed for ages now, just like the one in Chicago
