Description EDIT: Please don't stop here
I do all sorts of illustration using my 3D robots

as well as animation work

and the occasional coloring collaboration

This is kitbash (cutting apart toys and reassembling them as something new) of the Zoids Genobreaker with Bionicle joint parts to make an articulate Zoids figure. Not art, just having fun.

EDIT:

FAQ- How did you do this?

Alright already. I've been a big slacker for the past three weeks in terms of art output so I filmed a tutorial video of me making one of my latest kitbashes. I posted it in a playlist on YouTube:

Hope you enjoy, feel free to tell me about what you make!

It's still under planning but I've got a prototype done and photographed but my stupid camera would not connect to the computer no matter how much I try to get it sorted out -_-

Cutting up a zoid? I'd hug you if I could, but don't try showing that to my brother of he'll hug your windpipe, if you get my drift.

just one question:
how did you put together those parts with the lego pieces?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

whodagoose In reply to Mate397 [2007-07-29 02:56:51 +0000 UTC]

The parts are glue gunned into place. If there isn't anything to grip, I drilled a small hole in for the glue to drip across to the other side to hold things in place.

whodagoose In reply to Z-Omega [2007-05-29 15:32:52 +0000 UTC]

Well the primary tools are a jeweler's saw, glue gun, and a drill press (or dremmel tool). I cut apart the zoids (the plastic is VERY easy to cut) and reglue everything to Bionicle joint parts. If something doesn't fit right or needs to be filed then off to the drill press or dremmel to hollow or drill. It takes a bit of time, and makes a big plastic shaving mess on the table/floor. But the result makes it worth it!

Did you just rip apart the original model and combine it with Bionicle?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

whodagoose In reply to Biozilla [2007-05-29 15:38:30 +0000 UTC]

Saw apart. Yup. I wanted to see Zoids with articulation vs. motorized joints. Some of the results came out better than I'd hoped (Geno and Saber)
