Nothing bad about it, the more you do it, the more you expertize.
I personally suck at faces (and pretty much everything else), but can I make a suggestion? Start trying to make the face move along with the facial elementes. That is, cheeks, jaw, maybe some indicative wrinkles...
That'll give a more organic and less generic look.
Lovely sketches, I wish I had the patience for it, I usually draw a couple or three and get dried out of ideas.
