Description
this is SO an important psychological point!anyway it is for me cz i'm one of the girls.
i always called it pre-emptive stockholm syndrome... because i like big words.
Light Yagami and Misa are from Death Note,
Claudia and Louis are from the Vampire Chronicles
Rorschach is from Watchmen
all (c) someone who is not me. probably matt stone.
any more ideas anyone?
EDIT
This is on TVTropes here [link] and here [link]
If you don't know what TVTropes is and I have just brought it to your attention, it WILL ruin your life. Sorry.

Isn't this battered wives syndrome?
It's not Lady Macbeth anyway, she was the dominant controlling one, good otherwise though.

I don't think theres an official name, but battered wives syndrome sounds like a possible name. My friend said Lady McB syndrome, and it just stuck in my head. Even though its wrong in every way.

Yeah, I don't know if it's considered an "actual" syndrome, but that's usually what it's called.
"Lady MacBeth syndrome" does sound cool tho'

I used to call it Pre-emptive Stockholm Syndrome (as in, sympathizing with people who are likely to kidnap you, but haven't), but no one knew what I was talking abut DX

Thankfully. It's funny because in return she wanted to make fun of my favorite pairing (Joker and Harley) by saying "WELL THE JOKER IS A RAPIST, UGLY, AND A MURDERER!!".
It was soooo funny x]

I know xD! I would complain about it, but the topic of Twilight is a dead horse so, yeah. I HAVE TO DEAL WITH MY ANGER THROUGH POETRY >[
I was about to say, "At least the Joker can kick your sparkly faggot's ass any day," but then the discussion would've been endless.

I have to say, good examples. I liked the Rorschach example, because I'm currently working on a Watchmen OC who suffers from this. As for Death Note, I've never seen it, but from what I've heard, Light sounds like Rorschach and the Joker mixed into one and Misa sounds alot like Harley Quinn, so I'm definitely checking it out.

Yeah, when I saw Death Note for the first time (the series) I was like: "Wow. Misa sure acts a lot like Harley."
I did find Harley a more likable and sweet character though, sometimes it seemed like she knew that her love was one sided but kept trying anyway. Misa was a completely deluded fangirl.

I was just introduced to Misa, and I don't really have any problems with her so far. She acts just like a Light fangirl would if made canon. Still, I doubt I'll like her as much as I like Harley.

She just doesn't develop too much during the series, while Harley does. It was a bit of a dissapointment, still the ending was awesome IMO (don't worry, I won't spoil).

But the chicks are psychopaths too. In Lady M's case, she's much more disturbed than MacB is; she says (in a soliloquy) that she fears that Macbeth is too "full o' the milk of human kindness," and when he almost chickens out of killing Duncan, she does it for him.
And it's Mrs. Lovett that cajoles Todd into killing all those people in the first place--"A Little Priest," anyone? True, he killed whatsisname without any prodding, but she encouraged him to keep on going.
And I don't think that Magneto's that deranged, and, even if he is, Mystique seems to have her share of emotional baggage too.
And so on.
I mean, it's an interesting theory, but you need better examples. (Adorable pics though)

Erm... no, I think I've got to admit I don't. No. Wait.
Edward & Bella. Not that I'm a fan--I'm not--but... he IS obviously a psycho, and she doesn't care.
And about Lady M: looking over the play today, I realized I was wrong. She doesn't kill Duncan; MacB does. But she DID convince him to do so out of her own ambition.

Haha, thanks... I'm not that well-read in Shakespeare, but I've been in Macbeth and I really like it. Twelfth Night also. Not much else. Reading The Tempest in English currently.
Uh, there wasn't much of a point to that, but I figured I would go ahead and spout it.

Well, Louis loved Claudia to the point of slaveish devotion and he wasn't really a psychopath, more of a manic depressive, and from what I understand Hannibal had feelings for Clarice too but I see you're point for the rest of them. It's probably got a lot to do with the fact that some crazy people have very dynamic/magnetic personalities.
p.s. I love Rorschach... don't judge me.
