While I sorta concur with Phoenix-22, I'd like to differ with him as well.
I love it's simplicity, it brings out what this style's about in a new way. Most people (myself included) think,"OOOO, staind glass! Spiral spiral spiral spiral!!!!"
Well, it has some other sides to it too, your piece for instance. Achieving staind glass this way can create some very complex patterns and details that aren't necassarily needed.
As for the colors, two toned definitely works for this. It lends towards it simplicity. However, if you want to change the color a little bit, I wouldn't say multiple strips in the gradient. Find a nice gradient of two or three blocks of color right next to eachother and use the color symmetry to try and make them interpolate better.
All and all, I think this is a fantastic flame and you did a great job.
Wonderful work!

Looks fairly good, the color is nice as well, but the overall image (caution! Non-generic "it rocks!" comment coming up!) seems a bit lacking in detail or complexity. Persistence was good, cool, etc., but since it was your first one in that style, it kind of slipped under the "originality" radar. Not to say this isn't original, just that it could be expanded upon. Maybe if it can't be done with the flame, try layering flames, zoom out and put it next to another, etc. Try some more diverse gradients as well, such as one that changes as it spirals out.

thanks for feedback
i was toying with various gradients that had multiple colors but for some reason it did not look right (or atleast not to me:

True, some flames are very hard to have more than one colors because they tend to be either too dark, or too bright. Of course, you're the one with the skills, so you need to figure it out.

Angular works. It looks like it has been cut from sheets of copper. Very well done, Nick.

Very cool! I tend to look "down" into things so I just wanna hop in and see how far it goes! Love it!

I love spirals like this, but cannot get mine to do this yet. Still trying. Nice color, too.

It's such a simple fractal, but it's so neat! Wonderful!

Love the smooth texture and clean-cut geometric feel of it.
