Description Ok, so I made this by way of my go for a contest for Sabtastic. It's a 3D re-imagining of my favorite picture by her. [link]

I had to do some work to modify the closest tiger skin so that it'd be paler and with red stripes, was thinking about going back and seeing what I could do to get the costume colors closer to hers, but this moron went and shut the program down WITHOUT SAVING THE SCENE! I spent a few hours trying to remake it, but I was less than impressed with the outcome. So that's that.

I LOVED the pose in the original so I HAD to re-use it, more or less. So getting to re-use it in a re-envisioning of HER character is sweet!

DAZ studio render. Aiko3, BigCat's tiger-skin (modified by ME using PSP8), DAZs Catgirl for Aiko collar, some other clothing from DAZ, DAZ's Oak and Forest Playground1. And I cannot forget Mitsu's hair, THATS one of the reasons I couldn't reproduce the shape of it I did there. It's cool as heck hair, but designed for Poser, not DAZ, so it's weird as heck to work with.

She's my vision of Sabtastic's character Kat, whom I adore.

Oh my gosh - this is awesome

lol you even painted her toenails and gave her a bell necklace!
Great outfit too! If it's ok, I might end up changing mine to look a little more like the one you rendered here!
It looks totally bad-ass.

The filler for doing nails does the fingers and toes together. Yours is awesome! So please don't change the orig at all. THAT would be silly! If yours hadn't been so cool it wouldn't have inspired me. The bell necklace is part of the DAZ catgirl costume set. As was the bow for her tail, which is actually intended to be used as a hairbow for the costume hair (which I didn't use here.)

hehe - Well, all points aside, I think the black top looks awesome. lol I'd even wear it myself if I had one.

How long does an image like this usually take you? Must be difficult to arrange the hair and design all the skins.

Depends on how many details I add, and how much time I spend tweaking. I have a few stock backgrounds I keep re-using, really need to find more though. This is the first one where I created a new skin, because I wanted it to look like your cat-girl with the paler yellow fur and the red stripes. THAT took a couple hours, MAINLY because I'd never used Paint Shop Pro 8 to do that before so I had to putter around and figure out HOW. Over-all I think this one took about 8 hours, NOT including the time to Render it (that's when the 3D scene is converted to a jpg with shadows and such added, which you don't get to see at all while you are working.)

SHHHSH! Here's my dirty little secret. The top was chosen because I couldn't get any of my corset's for the character to fit the pose without more tweaking than I understood HOW to do. It was loose enough to fit easily, but still looked sweet on her. I REALLY wanted to use one of my corsets though, but they just didn't want to work.

holy
I'd never figure out how to use any 3d programs -- my boyfriend messed around with it, and I learned a little from watching him, but I don't think he got as far as rendering backgrounds.. Making clothes seems to be a ton of fun though

Well the whole thing is kinda like a puzzle. You get lots of pieces, and you just have to keep trying things and tweaking till the picture looks right. My favorite model is Aiko3, who is the female I've used in EVERY picture so far. I usually start out with some sort of an idea for the look I want, then pick a background that suits it. Then I bring in Aiko. She starts out nekkid, bald, barely colored, and in T position in dead center of the pic. I start out by looking through my poses for one thats close to what I finally want, then tweak it a bit and moving her to where I want her. Then I pick a body-mod injection. Then the skin. THEN I look at clothing. The clothing tends to get weird if you place it before posing her, so you do that last. The more extreme the pose and body-mod though, the harder it is to make the clothing look right. Then hair. Finally I look at makeup, lipstick, lashes, and the nails. Picking the expression-pose is easier than the main pose and usually I do that while thinking about the makeup. Jewelry and weapons and other stuff come last. Once I'm at this point I start looking at my lights, and doing some final adjustments, like tweaking the pose a bit more. It has SOME advantages over drawing by hand, you can try a pose-tweak for instance, and if it doesn't look right your only a "undo" click away from fixing it. On the other hand, it's much easier to DRAW a clothing fit, than to make one with the software. Only items that work as skin textures fit automatically. If you look at my Dryad Emergent pic, you'll see what I mean about items not having contact. They pass right through each other. So I may have to choose between nicely pokey nipples, and having clothing on them for instance. Bluebell wasn't going to have the nipple-jewelry, but I wanted pokey nipples and the latex suit wouldn't cover them. *looks at the longest response ever and frowns.*

lol whoa!
I think I know what you mean about the different fittings. Way complicated. There's a bunch of neat drape effects too, once you've got it all cut out

hehe - now I feel bad for writing such a short responce!
