Honeytail is described as a calm, caring, dependable, and self sacrificing she-cat. She puts the needs of her clan before her own needs and wants. She will always help a cat in need regardless of their life style or where they're from. Honeytail's voice always seems to have a little tune to it, brightening up the most depressed cat and soothing over any argument. She carries herself with confidence. She rarely yells or snaps during a disagreement or confrontation, knowing doing either will make situations worse not better. She does however have a surprising tone of authority to her voice when need be. She isn't a very complicated she-cat. Her emotions are easily read; when happy she walks with a spring in her step and all but drags herself about when upset. The small things in life make her happy, be it a calm greenleaf breeze or the taste of a warm mouse on a cold evening.
[The begining of it all]
Honeykit's life began in the usual way, a helpless mewing bundled of fluff. The fourth born in a litter of five to the sweet tempered warrior, Cloudsky, and the well respected deputy, Rainpool. Blind and deaf, Honeykit from the get go was all turned around. She couldn't seem to find her mother's milk. She'd stumble aimlessly around the nursery often mistaking the soft fur of the other queens, even on occassion her father, for her mother. Wiggling into them just to be picked up and brought back to Cloudsky. After Cloudsky and Rainpool voiced their concerns for their daughter to the clan's medicine cat, Bumbleberry, the she-cat decided to have a look at her. From what Bumbleberry could guess Honeykit was having problems sniffing out where she was and who was around her. Bumbleberry felt that Honeykit may still have some fluids stuck in her nose. Bumbleberry began tickling Honeykit's nose with her tail, causing her to sneeze out the lingering fluids. Bumbleberry repeated this over and over till she was sure Honeykit's nose was clear. During this time Honeykit's father teasingly suggested they change her name to Sneezekit, a comment that earned him a heated glare from her mother. Afterward Honeykit grew and developed normally with her littermates as if the incident never occured, and even seemed to have a strong sence of smell. She and her siblings grew into energetic, happy kits under the watchful gaze of their caring mother and devoted father. Though busy with his duties as deputy Rainpool always made sure to take time out of the day to visit the nursery. Often spending the time telling his kits stories of the warrior code, or showing them how to "hunt" a feather or a leaf, creating strong bonds with his kits.
[From kit to paw]
When leafbare rolled around Cloudsky was struck with a cough that developed into greencough, which soon spread to her kits. Bumbleberry quickly brought the family into her den to try and prevent any other cats from catching the illness. The treatment was a long and slow proccess and in the end Littlekit and Mosskit didn't make it. But Honeykit, Copperkit, and Willowkit, as well as Cloudsky made a full recovery. Her time spent in Bumbleberry's den helped Honeykit realize what she wanted to be, a Medicine cat. When Bumbleberry was out and about performing her medicine cat duties Honeykit would rush out of the nursery and question her relentlessly, on what each herb was and their uses. Bumbleberry didn't seem to mind the constant questions and looked to be amused by them. But Cloudsky would always give her daughter a gentle scolding, "You can learn about herbs when your older.", and lead her back to the nursery. Moons pass and Honeykit finally has her apprentice ceremony. To no ones surprise Honeykit had decided to take the path of a medicine cat. While her brother and sister chose the warriors path. Now named Honeypaw, she vowed she'd be the best medicine cat the clan had ever known and do her best to uphold the medicine cat ways. The first few moons of her apprenticeship were easy enough for Honeypaw, she knew most of the herbs and their uses by heart. Her keen smell was useful in finding herbs, making the time it took to fetch new herbs quicker than it was for Bumbleberry previously.
[Kittypets will steal your heart]
For moons upon moons Honeypaw was still just as dedicated to her clan as medicine cat apprentice as she was the day of her ceremony. She was well respected not only by her clanmates, but by many cats in the other clans. Her parents beamed with pride the day she recieved her full name, Honeytail. For four more moons Honeytail served as medicine cat assistant before Bumbleberry, having been the clans medicine cat for many years, stepped down to join the elders. For a whole full turn of the seasons Honeytail served as medicine cat without insident. One day as she was out herb collecting she came upon a twoleg nest, one she had always gone to to collect catmint. As she climbed onto the wooden fence that surrounded the twoleg nest she noticed a cat sitting near the twoleg den eating kittypet food. She was hesitant, there had never been a cat here before, and she didn't want to get into a territorial fight with the kittypet but there was no other place in or near her clan's territory she could go to get catmint. She confronted the kittypet and was surprised at his welcoming demenor. He was a handsome black and white tom, with ears that curled slightly backward. He didn't seem bothered in the least with her presence and even tried to strike up a conversation. Never having delt with a kittypet before, Honeytail wanted nothing more than to grab the herbs and run, which she did less than gracefully. Days after her encounter she kept thinking back to the kittypet. He sparked her curiosity. Why didn't he defend his twoleg nest when she entered his garden? Did he like living with twolegs? Why didn't he run away? She soon found herself walking the same path she had days before to the twoleg house. She jumped the fence and found the same kittypet, basking in the sun. He greeted her the way he had before and invited her to come over. She hesitated, but eventually joined him. She stayed for a while talking with him. She learned that his name was Baily and that his housefolk and himself had come to the twoleg nest they were at now from a different one farther away. Honeytail enjoyed her time with Baily and decided that she'd visit him again whenever she had the chance. She began visiting Baily almost daily, sneaking away during the duller, quiet times of the afternoon. She enjoyed her new special friend and learning more about the kittypet life. But she soon began to notice a change in herself. Whenever she was around Baily she felt heat ingulf her fur and her words would catch in her throat. She didn't know when exactly she fell in love with the kittypet but the realization of it filled her heart with both hope and guilt. She was a medicine cat she wasn't allowed to have a mate or kits, especially with a kittypet. Her clan was supposed to come first. For the first time in her life she began to regret her choice as a medicine cat. How was she supposed to realize what she would be giving up? She was so young at the time. To young to appreciate what having a mate and kits might be like.
[Sad goodbyes]
But other things soon distracted Honeytail from Baily. Twolegs, coming to the forest for greenleaf, had caused a fire to engulf the forest. Endangering the cats of all the clans. The invading flames forced the cats to flee for safety. The fire eventually died but what was once a forest of tall, large, trees, and meadowy fields was now no more than an ash covered wasteland. All the prey was either killed in the fire or had fled, and any water to be found had been contaminated. For all the season of leaffall the clans tried their best to survive by scavanging from the local twoleg places, hoping that their forest home would soon start to grow back or that the prey they had once hunted would return. But cats were begining to starve and fall ill. Honeytail like the other medicine cats looked to Starclan for guidance, but they were silent. She, like the others, didn't understand why Starclan wasn't helping. The leaders, deputies, and medicine cats eventually came together to discuss what was to be done.It was decided that those who wanted to, would go and the others, who wished to place all their trust in Starclan, stayed. Honeytail's clan was one of the three clans that had decided to leave. A choice she agreed was best. As her clan rounded up all it's members to leave she snuck off to see Baily. He was happy to see her and showed concern for her safety. Honeytail told him about the forests destruction and how her clan was leaving. Baily asked her to stay with him, he assured her that his housefolk would treat her well. But Honeytail declined, her clan needed her and she loved them just as much as she loved him. Baily then suggested that he come along. At first Honeytail considered it, but in the end she refused. The clan life wasn't for him. And even if he did come along they still couldn't be mates. Baily belonged with his twolegs, they were his clan and would be devistated if he left them. With one last look Honeytail left Baily staring after her as she raced back to her clan. Her heart felt shredded but she took comfort in knowing that eventhough she was a medicine cat, she had known love, and she would always remember the time they had together.
[Life comes full circle]
The journey was harder than any of the cats had expected. The clans had left the forest during late leaffall. And having all the herbs burned in the fire, there was nothing to be used on illness and injury that seemed to plague the clans where ever they went. They lost so many elders and young cats from illness, warriors and leaders from attacks by strays, dogs, and rats. And without proper shelter from the cold many kits born from pregnant queens died soon after birth. Honeytail did her best to find herbs in the unfamiliar lands, her nose sniffing out as much as she could find. Leafbare gave way to newleaf and slowly the clan's luck seemed to change. They had made it through the twoleg places and where now in the country side. The cats began finding herbs easier and food was plentiful. The clan's were regaining their strength. The cats travels had lasted moons. One night the clans, reaching the top of a foothill, viewed a small valley below with a thunderpath going through it. It seemed like a nice place to seattle the clans. That very night the clan leaders and medicine cats survied the areas and agree that they were staying. The next evening the cats all traveled together down to the valley. Honeytail was pleased with her clan's new home. It had a large herb supply and soft grassy fields. But Honeytail wouldn't live to see her clan to their new camp. Her sister's kit, the only one in his litter to survive, couldn't contain his excitement despite his mother's many scoldings. He was badgering his mother to move faster as he hopped up on the thunderpath. Honeytail was amused with the energetic nature of her nephew and followed him onto the thunderpath. Grabbing him by the scruff she turned and walked across the thunderpath to her worried sister. She could just imagine the scolding her nephew was going to get from his mother. In an instant Honeytail was struck by a monster. Her sister's kit went flying to the ground near the clan at the moment of impact and survived. The twolegs in the monster had gotten out and hovered over Honeytail, babbling their incoherent speech. But there was nothing the twolegs or her clanmates could do. Honeytail bleed out her life and died soon after. Her brother, Coppertail, who had died in a fight with a dog earlier in the journey came and lead her to Starclan. Honeytail now watches over her clan mates, whispering encouragement and advise into the ears of the medicine cats regardless of their clan, as well as traveling the skys to watch over Baily.

Story idea?
In every clan there are eager young cats who strive to prove their worth with skills for hunting and battle; to eventually have their efforts rewarded and be welcomed as true warriors among their clanmates. Honeytail is one of the few who yearn for a different path. A path not of violence, fangs, and claws; but of healing, leaves, and stars. Caring for her clanmates, for any cat, in need was what beckoned a young Honeykit to the ways of a medicine cat. She longed to bring ease to wounds and suffering from clanmates. Little did she know the hard lives medicine cats had to live. To be one with her clan, yet apart from them. To know every herb, plant, leaf, and their uses. To watch helplessly as cats fought to be saved, still died under paw. But when a mysterious foaming sickness (rabies) ravages cats in all the clans Honeytails future as a medicine cat will finally be tested.

I have N/A for successor because Moonclan does not currently have a medicine cat. Whenever the clan gets one that cats name will be placed there.
I wanted to put alot more into her history but I knew if I did it would end up being a book long. xD
Also, just for those of you who haven't guessed it yet, Baily is an American Curl. :3

's cat tutorial was SO helpful, more so than the reference images in the end. I'm happy with how most of this cat came out for it being the first time I sat down and seriously tried drawing a cat. But it's clear I still have a ways to go, especially with anatomy.
