PS FOCKS IN SOX

Gender: Gelded ridgling
Breed: Irish Sport Horse x Hackney Pony
Age: 7 (in this pic, see journal for up to date age)
Height: 16 hh with shoes
Color: Palomino (silver dapple) Tovero
Genotype ee/AA/nCr/nZ/nT/nO
Markings: Tovero, medicine hat, two blue eyes, all four legs are white, mane is silver in absence of white markings, tail is silver, hooves are cream with no stripes.
Build: Large head in proportion to body size, short back, sloping shoulders and big neck, roman nosed, very muscular in front, smaller in back. Pretty leggy fella, fairly small feet, fetlocks grow feather if not trimmed, long pastern bones and thick cannon bones with big strong tendons, stocky chunk of a horse.
Personality: Has a good disposition overall, hasn’t really bitten or kicked anyone, but if he suddenly decides he doesn’t want to do something, you’re in for a fight, very determined otherwise. He loves to jump, first noticed him in a free jumping ring, he has really good form over the jumps when free jumping, with a rider, he’s stubborn and wants to do his own thing, if he doesn’t feel like jumping today, forget it! Loves driving like his mother a champion Hackney driver. He has a very nice high-stepping gait, may also use for dressage. Is very mannerly around other horses, including stallions, doesn’t do well with dominant horses. Will jump a fence if he is interested in what’s on the other side, has figured out how to escape from his stall as well.

Other: Purchased from a warmblood stable on the coast of South Carolina (that‘s the ocean in the background), apparently this fella was a total accident when his father jumped the fence it was soon discovered after his birth he had an undescended testicle that was causing him a lot of discomfort, since he was a cross breed his former owners had no use for him as a breeding horse so he was gelded, though SOME frozen sperm is available just in case he showed any potential as a jumper.
For stud/lease: Sterilized, frozen sperm available for five mares (make sure your horse’s breed club has no regulations on AI, some, such as Thoroughbreds, forbid the use of AI for breeding)

I heard a loud snort when the stocky horse made contact with the surface of the riding arena after his jump. He then cantered back around and stopped with a hand signal from his handler. “I love him!” I cried, smiling from ear to ear. The pony cross tossed his head, almost in agreement. He was perfect, I had been looking for a hunter jumper for quite sometime, and our friends who owned a stable down at the coast of South Carolina had this wonderful accident of a warmblood pony cross. Story has it that this stable’s prized Irish Sport Horse stud, Monte Cristo, jumped his paddock fence one night and spent the evening with a very lucky Hackney mare named Shelby, the result, Focks In Sox, aka Zorro! He was a good jumper with a very nice disposition, he hadn’t bitten many people, as was the custom of ponies, he seemed more horse than pony. He had a heavy head with a handsome roman nose, wide barrel, a short strong back and long sturdy legs. His Tovero pattern was absolutely stunning as well, I had to have him!

Ahh, I am so excited about this guy! I decided to go the realistic route, in the real world a horse like this would definitely be gelded so he’s gonna be a gelding. Personally I think gelded horses make better animals anyway. Been working on this for a while now, wasn’t going to upload it until after the Quarter Horse auction [link] so it would be like we used the money to start a warmblood stock of jumpers. Sooo . . . . I just changed the background to the stable he is currently at, so we don’t technically have him yet, he’ll be coming home in late March. I don’t know if I can wait that long!

This is probably my first digital work with no references, he's such a unique horse I just had to make him up as I went along, I think he looks pretty good
