I've been doodling some Fooled art when I have the time, and this was a concept I'd wanted to work on for awhile but just recently had enough time to complete. Despite being a significant plot point in the novel, I haven't drawn Marco wearing his armor since my concept sheet in 2013! I'm glad to say I've gotten way better at drawing armor - and everything else - since my original design. Never underestimate the Jester!

Simplified armour - because Disney-style. Very neat.
Minor quibble (& I guess it is done for comedic effect): did they have steel strings on their lutes in that era? Only steel strings curl like that when they break. Gut strings wouldn't.

Yeah, Fooled is no historically accurate epic - just a bit of fun! And knowing Marco, his stupid gut strings probably would curl just to spite him.
