...And this, my unfortunate friend, would be the business end of my blade.Cleaned up and colored the character design sketch for Poufy because she's been so very very patient. Prismacolor pencils on tinted cardstock with micron inks.

I am so curious: Do you use a blending pencil? And about how many colored pencils do you have to chieve such amazing effects of light and shadow <3

I use a blending pencil depending on the texture and colors. The pants and sash at his waist were blended with the blending pencil...all other textures and color changes were done with varying pressure and color. As a rule, I use about four to five different shades on each group of color...for example, the red sash was done with black, white, red, maroon, and indigo blue. The ruddy red color of his fur was done with dark brown, black, white, terra cotta, and a coppery color.
