What do you know, a northern raccoon and a raccoon dog in the same picture. Do they look similar to you? No. Well, the raccoon has a facial mask and a ringed tail. The raccoon dog does has the facial mask like the former, but no ringed tail. Raccoons pick up food with their front paws, but raccoon dogs don't. Originally from North America, raccoons have introduced by humans throughout Eurasia, whereas raccoon dogs were introduced from East Asia to Europe.
