Story: Carlos had been visiting Arabia when his caravan had encountered a travelling tribe. This tribe was one of few that possessed Royal Arabs descended from the kings stock. During this trip the caravan and tribe joined together to reach the town and during one night Carlos was visiting the Sheik's tent when a raid happened and Carlos saved the Sheik's life. In return, the Sheik sent Carlos the first born colt from that season from his best stallion and mare to High Tides Stables. El Rey arrived as a yearling and was as wild as his sire but soon grew attached to Carlos and became trainable. He soon started to even boss Carlos around!

The Arabian King is born on the same day as his soul companion. They are the same age as a result and have a bond that cannot be broken. Siranni is El Rey's soul companion, when she dies only then will El Rey die and pass his crown to one of his offspring of pure Royal Arabian blood.
