Ok, here it is, my influence map. I wanted to put much more on here as I'm influenced by many things and many great artists, but I had a hard enough time with this as it is. The numbers do not reflect which person was more influential than another.1. Kevin J. Taylor. The man who's art corrupted me and turned me on the path to doing adult's only art. His stuff is sexy and his stories are not braindead porn.
2. Dave Johnson (aka Devilpig). His art on Superpatriot was mind blowing to me back in the day and later his stuff for Penthouse Comix fed my porn comic fire. Now his awesome cover work continues to inspire me, as does his wit here on DA.
3. John Byrne. I remember copying his art when I first started drawing by looking at his work in the Legends miniseries and the Man of Steel mini.
4. Sevendust. My favorite band.
5. Gus Vasquez. My mentor and friend. He taught me so much. In fact, the sketches and tutorials he gave me still help me today.
6. Kevin Maguire. Simply put, no one draws facial expressions like Kevin Maguire. From Justice League to Penthouse Comix to today, Kevin's art is a joy to look at.
7. Rob Liefeld. I admit when he first hit the scene I was one of those kids who thought he was awesome. Then I realized how wrong I was. Now, Liefeld inspires me in what not to do and that if he can make it in the comics biz, so can I.
8. John Woo and Chow Yun Fat. No one does action like this dynamic duo. Hard Boiled and Killer are heavy influences on my art and my stories.
9. Five Finger Death Punch. My second favorite band. Their music would make a great soundtrack to a John Woo action scene. He he.
10. Marc Silvestri. His X-Men run was great, but his Cyberforce was the shit to me when it came out.
11. Aletta Ocean. One of my favorite pornstars and the person I'm using for the design basis for my character Sam.
12. Milo Manara. A legend. His erotic work was another influence in my doing adult's only art. His stuff is the definition of sexy.
13. Jim Lee. Umm..duh. How could you not idolize the man?

Darn, couldn't you have chosen a more Liefieldy Liefield panel? Something with tiny/hidden feet, Salvador Dali Anatomy and pouches out the wazoo

Nice! I have to admit I was one of the few guys back in the day who was not impressed with Liefield's art. however, I was disappointed because he took over art chores from Brett Blevin on the New Mutants, and Blevins has his own problems (his teens are basically adults with big heads and small bodies). Blevins still has his moments though.
Silvestri has always been a fave and it's incredible to compare the differences between his work with Dan Green in the old Xmen books with the work he was doing for Image.
