With ice blue eyes, silver hair and a pallid complexion Frostbyte is a memorable encounter. Also known as Kumiko, she is a human/felyan hybrid whose psychic abilities are heavily amplified by nanites injected into her as a child that, ironically, were meant to suppress her abilities. A child prodigy Kumiko is one of the most intelligent people ever to sail the stars. Confident in the nanites ability to dampen her abilities Kumiko was taken by the Vlissians like most hybrids to be educated and trained in the use of her gifts. However they heavily underestimated just how smart that little girl was. Kumiko learned how to reprogram the nanites and used them to amplify her abilities, specifically in the field of pyrokinetics, earning her the nickname 'Frostbyte' after demonstrating how she could freeze an object and transfer the energy taken into another object to heat it. As a final 'trick' Kumiko used the nanites to alter her appearance removing any trace of felyan heritage from her body before escaping, believing the Vlissians are not as benign as they appear. Kumiko actively resists any form of control of her powers and her free will and as a result spends her time as a drifter. On the run from various corporations interested in using her abilites for their own purposes Kumiko travels from world to world seeking only a warm bed and a place to practice her 'magic'.
