Description The second image in the War Protocol series. In this scene we feature The machine called 'Imani' firing at an unseen opponent. Imani has suffered heavy damage from anti-armour shells and high velocity frag missiles. As is the spirit demonstrated by her pilot, whilst there is ammo in their gun and a knife in her hand she will not submit!!

Thanks I'm basically trying to convey the sheer brutality of thses battles in this series. In this case surviving several major blasts and rain of shrapnel. The armour plates are made of a kind of 'memory metal' that flexes and bends with the machine but once it's shredded like in this image it goes rigid until it can be reworked and repaired.

Well despite being machines their construction is very organic in a way. They operate using form of synthetic muscle fibre. It is very possible to tear this fibre material and even 'strain' it in a way. Meaning Gestalts are susceptible to 'muscular injury' like their human pilots. Also because of the neural link between machine and pilot if the person is carrying an injury they kind have to learn to 'forget' about it. Otherwise say they have a leg injury, the gestalt develops a limp in sync with the pilots injury.

Well these machines hark back to a time of highly advanced technology among the colonies. The colonies then waged war among themselves and effectively set themselves back hundreds of years tech wise. These robots and a few ships and odd pieces here and there are all that's left of that time.

even as she's about to fall on her metallic butt, with the kick of her weapon not helping. Awesome work though!

Thanks Many of their weapons are usually retrofitted from vehicles. Very little bespoke weaponry still exists for these machines so cannibalising other weapons is now a common practice.
