This is amazing, considering you're learning! I wasn't nearly as good when I started...now I'm pretty good at pencil stuff! Keep drawing, you could be the next big thing if you really are new to the art! I have nothing to say for suggestions besides keep practicing and you'll go really far! Good job!! The vision is so real, and everything is just beautiful. I was shocked when I saw you were learning! This is very original and how you kept the cave so empty is great, where most would have filled it, therefore ruining the image. I love it!

I think this is really good since I am a fan of the art of Bastion and Transistor. The bear is well drawn, the wide space is portrayed in such a way that the bear doesn't get lost there. I like the earthy colors and the composition; it portrays the natural terrain adequately. By presenting just a few elements, it helps the viewer to understand the image; there is no need to show a lot of things. Everything is well integrated as a whole. If you keep drawing like this, I know you will get far. Practice makes perfection e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

That it was I have come to realize lately; that the big simple statements should be my focus. Β To not be distracted by unnecessary details.
Many thanks! Β

Well, seeing as you're just "learning" to paint, this is pretty impressive! The solid and blocky colors give it a very rough and earthy look, and also follows a very impressionistic style.
I'm not really sure if I can offer much in the way of suggestions, though. It's very visually impressive and really catches the eye. It's also very simplistic so it doesn't overbear my eyes when I look at it. In the case of this painting, that's a very good thing. You really captured the emptiness of the cave that this bear is walking into, and all that empty space that doesn't have a lot of clutter helps strengthen that.
Beautiful job!

Much appreciated!
Lately,Β I'm really trying to focus on reducing the complexity of my composition down to the bear essentials. Β This image was giving me a ton of trouble, until I decided to take a big brush and paint over much of the unnecessary details. I'll try to push it further with the next one.

This is such a nice scene, the eye is immediately drawn to the bear, wanders, and then returns to the bear. Great job, Wildweasel1339!

somehow, this seems familiar... Did you paint something similar a while ago, or is it just me ?
(anyway, great work as ever. I really like it)

I've painted a few bears before, and I think all my trees and rocks have a similar look to them. Thanks

This is fantastic! I love everything about this!
Although that is how I feel too when painting...I'm learning but slowly. I think "...one unbearable attempt at a time." pretty much sums up how it feels to learn how to paint. This is great though!Β

nice scaling of mass, and contrast of value. I also like the "echoes of shapes" between the bear and rocks.
I would be curious to see some start steps or WIPs of an artwork like this one.

- Don't be too hard on yourself. This piece is gorgeous! Normally, I have this love-hate relationship with digital media, but you digital paintings always enchant me.

I love how this isn't just a close up of a subject, but actually shows more of what's around the subject. it's kind of refreshing, actually. And that's just beside the painting skill and color choice and everything else. I know you already know that it's great.

The wild and empty feeling of the cave are very poignant. For someone learning to paint, you did an awesome job!

I don't know why but...this painting says a lot to me. Every time I look at it I feel moved. xD I think it's because of the bear who seems so small is returning to its home, a place of safety and security. I love it. Β Good job!
