Perfect, you've definitely caught the energy and movement in this.
I think every dog owner / walker knows this moment.
In my case, you couldn't say the 's-word' infact you couldn't even refer to it as the 's-word' because he figured out what we meant!

This is so pretty. I really like the scenery you drew here. I also find it really impressive how your brushstrokes make this painting even more dynamic. Last but not least I really like the coloring and how you kept all the reflected light in mind. Great job!

this just made me laugh. I often walk my dog without a leash (mistake noted) she runs after cars and motorcycles wagging her tail and whimpering thinking its my parents c: it just made me smile is all.

There is really an amazing moment captured here, the movement and energy and action, it's great. I think the only thing that would make it more interesting is some sort of weird perspective -- like looking at more from the ground level, maybe, or expanding the canvas to include the jumping squirrel... maybe mr. squirrel is taunting him from the fence? Anyways, love the human figure, the sunny lighting, what fantastic style and texture as well... you should be proud!

wow, almost thought it was some oil painting, is really nicely done
you can see how the motion is, she tries to pull the dog who has spotted a squirrel...and... "Squirrel!!"
very great atmosphere.

Whoa, this is amazing! What program did you use for this? I've been having problems getting that lovely, creamy blending with photoshop...
(or, if it is photoshop - what brush settings?)

Wildweasel339 In reply to Bluewyrm [2013-06-02 22:09:44 +0000 UTC]
I do use Photoshop. The blending is done with the 'smudge' tool. It's surprisingly versatile if you go in and play with the settings the same way you would with a regular custom brush. You can also set the brush to 'scatter' which will give a very soft blend. I just try to use a variety of brushes and blending techniques. I may create a tutorial on this subject, if there is enough interest.
Thanks
