I really love the phantom.
One thing I find weird though, is in the movie and the stage production, he only wears the half-face mask, yet the publicize with the full face mask you've drawn. Peculiar.

But personally, a work like this: [link] is a lot more captivating than the full mask, so I think either way it still works.
The full mask and the rose have become the defining advertisement for it though so if they changed everything people would get confused lol
