If Pixar made RWBY the only good thing about it would be the CG. Pixar lacks RoosterTeeth's awesomeness.

When I wrote that, I was more imagining Pixar backing RWBY (enhancing the CGI quality, maybe giving tips on story telling), and that Monty Oum would still have control over fight choreography and the story as a whole.

Hummmmmm.... Nah, maybe the sappy story parts. But if it isn't Monty who does the fighting scenes then we might as well pack up because that's exactly why RWBY exists in the first place.

Eh, you may have a point. I was going to bring up the Incredibles, but that fight scene wasn't quite as awesome as say episode 8. I just thought it would be cool to see RWBY with Pixar-quality CGI.Β

I'd instead suggest: Put Pixar in charge of animation, Mamoru Hosoda or Gen Urobuchi Β in charge of the story and make Monty Oum the choreographer for the fight scenes (and no more).

IfΒ Gen Urobuchi was in charge of the story, everyone would die. Painfully.Β Horrifically.
Sure he creates awesome storylines, but he is known as the Urobutcher for a reason.

That's good though! Writers are too scared off killing off characters. I'd argue that everybody should mentor under George RR Martin, for one. He just writes the situation and if it would result in someone dying then that person dies, as it should be.
In a series with combat, death is a part of the story as much as the fighting.

I actually don't think I have seen anything by either Hosoda or Urobuchi

Fate Zero and Psycho Pass from Urobuchi, and Wolf Children from Hosoda. Suffice to say that Hosoda is the spiritual successor to Miyazaki. His movies are, well, downright amazing.
