Description I wrote this comic as a part of my on going effort to tell obvious pro-social messages with over-developed, bikini clad women.
This one is directed at those outspoken Poser and Daz Studio users who tell everyone which figure to use.

Enjoy.

After reading the comments, it makes sense to me now.  It shouldn't matter what models one use (I still use Gen3, and Posette on occasion), just make great art!

All this conflict is why I don't read many forums.

I'm personally tired of the whole thing myself and I blame both DAZ and Poser for the whole situation. I know they are both in the business to make money but at the end of the day it effects everyone...especially us users. Only reason I went the D/S route is because I can't afford Poser. Still...DAZ3d's decision for Genesis and V6 not working with Poser is just plain stupid. On the flip, Poser not making an effort on their end to get it to work even if DAZ3d is going to lift a finger to make it compatable is just as stupid also. (Or spending the time and energy to make a Poser only figure and support it.)

Fault to me is found on both side. It just sucks for me when I go shopping and find something really cool that I might need on Rendo...only to find I can't use it due to it being for one program or the other.

Oh...and the "No Dawn" stuff on Daz3d...they are afraid that Dawn might actually be some serious competition for V5-V6. To me it explains them pumping out V6 so damn fast (with no F^&king G1 support...). I don't think that Dawn will take the place of V4 though...unless damn near all of V4's and G1's clothing works on her. One can dream...right?

I apologize for the rant...I just want everyone (including myself) to be able to focus on making killer art...regardless of what program you use and stop the fighting.

Hmmm...okay, maybe I'm just too new to the 3D art scene, but I'm not understanding the inside joke here. I understand that several of the girls (or Poser/DAZ models) are not welcome/used on some sites, but my question would be: Why? Which I suppose is the point of your whole display here, but if someone could let me in on the joke it would be nice.

To sum up: DAZ 3D created the very popular Victoria figures for Poser. Then they made there own 3D application DAZ Studio. They created the Genesis and Genesis 2 figures to work in Daz Studio only. And, stop making content for Poser. Naturally, the Poser users felt alienate and offended. You can take a guess at where they told DAZ 3D to stick it.  Only recently, they created a way to use the Genesis figures in Poser. However, one must jump through a lot hoops and the results are not the greatest (i.e., Reduced features and a broken library).

Last month, former DAZ employees released there own figure, Dawn, which has versions that can work in both Daz Studio and Poser. A lot of Poser community sites also released content for Dawn, except one DAZ 3D. From what I saw, they have deleted several forum posts that mention Dawn.

As you can guess, this created a lot of ill will in the community. I saw comments from one side ripping Genesis and comments on the other side ripping Dawn. The worst ones are written by people who admit to have not used the figure. But that doesn't stop them from spouting off. I just tired of all the bickering.

i was going to ask the same question, so thanx.

another question if you have the time; what are the names of these models? i'm brand spankin' new to this as well and have seen most of these models at one point or another but only recently have i been studying the creation process (and once RL settles down, purchasing Poser). thanx %-)

I see. So this new Dawn figure is compatable for both Poser AND DAZ. Interesting. I hadn't heard a thing about it, but like I said, I'm pretty new to all this. I don't suppose you could provide me with a link to where I could find out information about this new model? Please and thank you.
