Description
Bridget, one of the main characters from my Wavendreem's Garden stories, meets with the Guardian of the Stream. So far this scene isn't in any of the stories I've finished, but I had the idea for it ... I might work something like it into a story. This scene is inspired by many dreams I've had of magical forests, clear streams and wonderfully strange things living in them. Watercolour.Related content

Lovely idea, I think you've painted the landscape very well,
the guardian looks good too but the girl looks a bit ... i don't know the right word for it, but she isn't up to your standards. Hope you don't mind the critique.

OK Sarah ... I'm here to improve, so if you could perhaps help me put my finger on it I would appreciate that enormously. And anyone else's input would also be welcome. So:
- Is it something I can fix or do you think I should do the whole painting over?
- Is it her face, her hair, her eyes, her mouth? Just a note, Bridget is supposed to be a bit goofy-looking.
- Do you want more detail?
- A problem with the pose?
- Something to do with the lighting? Should I try and make her a bit more solid-looking perhaps?
- Should I try and 'ground' her in the painting, connect her with the rest of the painting more?
Again thanks if you or anyone could help out.

Glad to hear you're not offended
It's quite hard to tell what exactly is wrong.
I think the proportions of the figure are not quite right.
Her upperarms are too short, the skirt seems too stiff, het feet look huge, maybe that's because of the water I don't know.
These are the points I noticed, but I could be wrong of course.
Maybe you could try different things in Photoshop to see how it works out.

Thank you very much Sarah! I think it is fixable. I'll give it a go this weekend ... have to finish a few other things first.
