Description July 7th, 2009 in Hamburg Pennsylvania, the skies were beautiful. A full moon overcast by black clouds and silver linings. And a purple background to finish it off. I walked out of work around 11:30 or so, looked up at the sky and it took my breath away. One of the most beautiful things I've seen in such a long time. And when I got home, I immediately set about looking for the camera, which was nowhere to be found.

So, frustrated, I did the next best thing. I drew it. Which was incredibly difficult actually. Because the clouds where moving at such an alarming rate it was very difficult to get in a rough sketch before everything was different. I did my best to capture the beauty of that sky. But I fear that I have only drawn but a brief and dull reflection in rippling water of that sky.

Although, I don't feel this is finished, I'll put it out here for the moment, likely to update it when I feel it's done/I get inspired to finish it.

18x22 Charcoal and pastels on charcoal paper.

I just posted this up last night or maybe the day before. It hasn't been up long to get many views at all... Especially for my little shitass gallery.
