Oh no, it isn't always caucasian. Zoe is African, and Mara is from the Near East. Dori is also African, and I've had older characters who are also African. Two examples of realistic Africans are Lisha and Gigi. Cillalayna is Asian. One of my new ones, Sara, is Arabic.
The caucasians are more prolific because at least half of my dolls are based on real people, and the majority of those people are caucasian. And I apply a hybrid style to my dolls, a mixture of American and Japanese influence. To be consistent, I pared down my usage of texture sets to perhaps a dozen or so, and if I need a different skin tone, I have three custom shaders that I can apply and adjust as needed.
I brought up the very concern you made just now, on Facebook a few months back. I lamented the lack of African anime characters in general. Zoe was first created many years ago, along with Mara and a few others whom I no longer use because they are based on an older figure. You're preaching to the choir, I'm afraid. I actually added diversity to a specific genre that is rare to begin with in the Poser/DAZ community: non-white anime characters in 3-D.
I suggest that you browse through my albums, you'll see the diversity! And rest assured, Zoe will return very soon! It's already been planned.
