Description Taken May 20, 2023

A pair of one of my old Busch 5934 HO scale railroad crossing signals along with some Surface Mount LEDs to be mounted on HO crossing gates. They are from a set of 20pcs Pre-wired 30awg Wire SMD LED 0603 Light Lamps with Resistors. I bought the extra LEDs on eBay and from evemodel_fr(9177). I did buy LEDs like these before but from ModelModz, which is in the United Kingdom but from evemodel, which is in Shanghai, China, you can get a quantity of 20 of these in one set for $7.99 The Model Modz LEDs are expensive, you get one individual LED for$ 2.75 (I bought two individual LEDs and it was a total of $14.50, including shipping, which was $9.00! And if you get a 10 pack from Model Modz, it'll cost you $26.50 plus $13.50 shipping, costing you a total of 40.00! THAT'S INSANE!) What's even more insane, I had to wait over a month just to get my two LEDs (it's possible because it was because of COVID!) No, don't buy from Model Modz, especially if you live in the U.S., buy from evemodel_fr (9177) on eBay instead! You may have to wait almost a month but you'll pay even less!

I also got these to replace the Micro Litz 0603 LEDs I got at Amazon, the LEDs in this picture.

It didn't work out with the Micro Litz LEDs. For one I couldn't get them to flash with the Busch crossing signals even if I wired them in the Busch flasher unit with said signals, and so I ended up having to put them on separate flashers, causing the lights on the gates to flash out of sink with the lights on the signals. Also I don't like the wiring on the Micro Litz. I didn't like that the wires didn't look insulated and would touch other things including each other and would burn out easily if not careful, even if you put resistors on them. It's hard to explain! So I decided to stop using Micro Litz LEDs in favor of the LEDs I got from Model Modz, but wanted to get them from a different place for less money! So I went to evemodel fr(9177) on eBay instead!

And as you can see, well, you'll see it in my next picture, the LEDs I got from evemodel (that's how I'll refer to the seller for simplicity) work well with the Busch crossbuck LEDs even when you wire them together to the Busch flasher unit although the Busch flasher unit flashes lights at a fast rate! I originally tried it with the Model Modz LEDs and they worked but I thought they'd be too small, still they worked much better. But because they come with resistors, if you wire the LEDs to the flasher with the resistors still on them, the LEDs won't light up as brightly.

So if you want to use lighted crossing gates with Busch 5934 crossing signals, I strongly recommend the evemodel prewired 0603 LEDs with resistors. Go hereΒ www.ebay.com/itm/195361869486?… But please be careful when wiring with Busch crossing signals because Busch signals come with magnet wire that's almost impossible to shave insulation off without cutting off the actual wire and if the wire breaks and you don't have anything to shave off the insulation you're unfortunate ("out of luck" for want of better words than that as I don't believe in luck! Seriously somebody give me a better way of saying "out of luck" please!)

Anyway stay tuned for the next picture and for an even better picture!
