Description This painting was just about finished on time to put it on show at a weekend magical conference run by my friends John and Caitlin, which was all about the Merlin mysteries. Acrylics on circular canvas- oo I like quirky canvas shapes!

John and Caitlin Matthews?

I'm glad they're still out there, "The Arthurian Tarot" recently went back into print in America, which rocks, cause I buy that one more often for friends than any of the others.

I'm going to have to come back and look at this again. I recognise so much, the Silver City on the top, that's what I'm the most intrigued by.

Words cannot express my overall feel for this magic you have created. If you could see my closed eyes and slight upturn of a smile you would be able to recognize the intensity of effect that this piece weaves in my head, it all seems so familliar... As in John and Caitlin Mathews? If so I have read every published piece of work from the both of them, some books are more favoured and accepted than others but EVERY one of them holds a dynamic understanding of the content projected. I have a deep respect for those two! I'm sure your "Merlin" was well received.

I'm glad you like it, i thought you might! I thought you might be the one person on here who would get all the symbolism. Yes, I do refer to the Matthews- they are my teachers, and I owe them a lifetime of gratitude. Caitlin isn't much into visual things, but John really appreciated it! Thank you for your kind words, as always.

Cool...I love the fact that the whole thing together rather looks like an owl's face The symbolizm is great too, but the owl part is interesting. My Merlin knowledge is getting foggy...what's the part in the sky? I think that's the only part I'm missing, though it likely isn't Nice & boldly colored too by the way -- looks great! ~K

Gosh that is interesting about the owl, because I didn't notice it- and because Owl is one of my main animal guides! The part in the sky is the Glass Observatory, built for him by his sister, Gwenddydd where he abides with Taliesin and his sister. Theres a lot of stuff in this pic...I crammed it all in there!

I love the simplicity of the style- very tradtional. The contrast of the halves, and the over all color use is really fun.
<3 the subject manner.
