Description “Void”

In most cultures there are four elements such as fire, wind, earth, air; in addition, some place a fifth element. In Japan it is Void. When I made this it was a competition of another gallery. It is made with Acrylic as I had no studio except my dorm. I could not use any oils as they would require toxic and flammable solvent.

One thing is for sure the complex design was not very easy to make in the middle. I had to keep making retries over and over. One of the problems with geometric designs is they will show when you make the slightest error. Even human figures give more room for error than geometry.

I really love the detail to colors. The water element is my favorite, probably because of the wonderful combination of blues you used.

I find it amazing that certain people can take such a denotative project as a spectrum of colours, and make into art in itself. The general tone of your piece draws a natural effect that is impossible to avoid and I personally am a fan.

You work with what is, the sign of a true artist.

Impressive.
