Ahhhh!!! I'm sorry....You can imagine that if you want to!!! I'm so so sorry!!! Fairytales in their earliest and purest incarnations are hella HARSH!!! I was battling over how best to "re-interpret" this one and still give a proper nod to the long since gone creator and their intent. I will have to create an ending that suits your fantasy!!
