Lovely setting we have here. The midtones are really washed out in this photo, particularly the sky and hills in the background. This is a pity because the lighting (angle of sunlight) is great for the architecture.
To my eye, the photo looks a little soft, almost as if too much noise-reduction has been applied, which gives an almost artificial feel to the image. The bridge and the trees in particular are too blurry.
The colours appear very muted too, but this could be the time of year, and some people do prefer that. This image would be completely different if it was taken through a polarising filter, the blue haze in the distance would be reduced, the sky would be darker and bluer, and the clouds whiter - thereby offering a much more pleasing contract to the sky.

Thanks Ricky for this building critique! That's really appreciated and all you say is correct of course. The photo is taken with a compact FujiFilm FinePix F810 camera, so I can't use the filters you recommend. Also the lens is not very good when zooming, so that gives the blurry bridge and trees most probably. But I will for sure keep all in mind for when I have some better equipment. The original was really not worth much, so I had to do a lot of afterwork in PhotoMatix and PhotoShop, which indeed might give it a bit "artificial" look.

To start things off, this is an absolutely lovely photograph. The lighting is absolutely gorgeous in general; it really brings out the architecture of the buildings and the bridge as well as the reflections in the water.
As a continuation from the critique prior to mine, the sky is a bit "dotty" (for lack of a better word). I would recommend softening the sky portion of this photograph; it would fit in much better with everything else.
One other thing I would recommend adding, however, is a border of some sort and a signature as well. In my opinion, those elements would make this look a little more professional.
With that aside, though, this is a remarkable capture, and I know I'm not the only one looking forward to more works from =Wimley in the future.

First things first, this looks like a lovely little town right on the river. I like the angle you've gone with to capture this and the sharpness throughout the entire image. What gets me though is the sunlight on the buildings, without the light this wouldn't be half as good.
I notice the bridge to be on a lean to the right and I'm guessing it's that you weren't standing directly on with the bridge, therefore making it appear off. I would fix that in photoshop because you need the perfect balance with a shot like this. I also see that the sky looks a little off putting, not sure whats happened there but it appears to be overexposed and you've tried burning or something in photoshop?

Beautiful image and place.
Usually my preference is to shoot architecture in fuller sunlight, however there is so much more to this photograph. The low lighting on the bridge keeps it from overpowering the foreground and brings attention to the beautiful background buildings, mountains, and sky.
