Was about time I made a new ref. for him tbh. It's been exactly a year since I first sketched him out on my sketchbook.

Name: Firestorm
Nicknames: Stormy (only for friends though. Call him by anything other than his full name otherwise and you get clobbered)
Age: Mid to late 20s
Species: Terran
Traits:
Sprout (elemental/rare)
Claws (rare)
Job: Guard

Bio: Firestorm is a grumpy, no-nonsense terran. As a guard, he rarely speaks, but when he does, he is curt, blunt and straight to the point. He hates beating around the bush, as he thinks it's a big waste of time. Very by-the-book, Firestorm finds it very hard to tolerate any kind of rule-bending. He is also very guarded, and trying to break through his tough exterior is challenge. Very few know him to be a caring softie that's just hurting from a freak accident that he still blames himself for.

  When he was younger (around teen years) he loved to explore the outdoors, getting himself in all types of situations. The old spinner burrows, climbing tall trees without using his wings, exploring caves, you name it. Firestorm was never alone, either. He always travelled with his twin brother, Hailstorm. One day, they challenged each other to climb the highest tree they could find without the use of flight. As they went higher and higher, the began to grow reckless and incautious. Because of this, they failed to take notice of a Bushcat of the tree variety stalking them. When they called time out to rest, the Bushcat pounced. Both Firestorm and Hailstorm scurried to get away, but were separated in the process.

  In his rush, Firestorm slipped off the branch they were on and tumbled almost all the way down to the forest floor, barely saved by a overhanging branch that he caught on to. Dazed, he looked around for his brother, only to hear a petrified cry as Hailstorm attempted to fly to safety, but was swatted out of the air and carried away by the huge feline. Firestorm himself barely made it out alive, having broken a couple ribs and a leg in his fall, and his face dripping blood as it had been cut up by the twigs and branches as they whipped across his face. The wounds would leave scar his face for the rest of his life as a harsh reminder of the day he lost his twin. It was by pure luck, or perhaps providence, that he was found by a Wysp patrol and brought to safety.

  Since then, he wasn’t the same. He became quiet, curt, and cold. He was lost in his grief for years, long after his wounds physical have healed, before he decided to join the guard. He wanted to keep others safe, prevent them from getting hurt, and make sure no Grottolings acted as reckless as he had to prevent incidents like his own. Throwing himself into his new job, he dedicates most of his time awake to training.

Other notes:
-Firestorm and Emerald Fire are cousins. Their fathers are twins, hence their similar colorings. They used to be very close before the accident that killed Hailstorm. Firestorm has begun to open up to Em again, but still remains rather reclusive.
-Both he and Hailstorm had claws.
-He mostly fights battles with his claws; he can use them very well.
-He sometimes uses his sprout magic to aid him as well, growing thorns to create defensive walls, and to intimidate.
