Description
I did this for the contest. Her name is Lunatic I tried my best to copy the Justice League/Superman/Gotham Knights drawing style. I LOVE her boots and I think the straight jacket look might eventualy catch on.Name: Dr. Luna T. Ickerson aka Lunatic
Gender: Female
Age: 25
Race: Caucasion
Height: 5'2"
Abilities: Predicting the criminaly insane, Multiple Persionality, Hightened mental capacity (she's increadibly intelegent)
Weakness(es): Children, deprived of a normal childhood Luna and Lue tend to fear children.
Hobbies: Reading medical journals, computer programming/Playing with the bunnies in her ears, comic books and refering to people as Squeeee.
Ok now that I have the formalities for the contest out of the way . . . IN true DC fassion I think I've gone too far. Lunatick has been in my sketchbook for a few months. This contest inspired me to finish her.
What do you do when your a child genius of Gotham being raised in the narrows by a manic depressive schizophrenic mother and your sociopath father left before you where born? You graduate high school at 14, earn PhDs in psychology and criminal psychology by your 18th birthday and finish medical school before you can legally drink. But mainly you grow up with issues . . . lots of issues . . . lots and lots of issues. Thatβs what happened to Luna T. Ickerson. She finished her residency at Gotham General and became Gotham Psychologyβs Woman of the year after her ground breaking dissertation on schizophrenia. Her passion for mental health led to a position at Arkham Asylum. After three years she was granted funding to experiment her own methods on a select few inmates at Arkham. Things where going well until an escape attempt at the asylum. She was abducted by her patients and forced to endure her own methods. Experimental medication mixed with electro shock therapy bended her mind. Forcing a split personality to emerge. This personality nearly killed the patients who abducted her. Lue as she is called is the exact opposite of her conservative mile mannered counterpart. After a year at Arkham as a patient Luna was found to be mentally competent and released. However she only learned how to tap into Lue when is suited her. Or is it the other way around? Far from predictable Lue sees the world in only two colors. Black and White. Good is good and bad is bad however making the bad pay is fun, really fun. Unpredictable herself she has a knack for being able to predict the criminally insane. Not exactly what they will do but she's can walk a mile in their shoes.
Just some more info tacked on because I was borde.
She's kinda got this whacked out Two Face/Joker thing goin on but with a bit of a twist. Unlike Two Face, Harvy Dent reached the road to no recovery when he passed the bar exam LOL . . . ok yeah that wasn't funny. Well any way with Luna and Lue they kinda always know the difference between eachother. Instead of one taking over and blacking out like most MPD cases it's more of a "Me Myself and Iriene" sorta situation. They have a bit of an understanding.
As to the Jokerness . . . The Joker is pure unadultirated insane evil and a box of 1 dozen starved crazed weezels. Lue was born out of a mind that wanted nothing more than to cure mental illness for good. Luna's lifework was honorable, she was a good person so instead of a freaked out evil bitch that split into her mind she got Lue. Who is more of a fanatic when it comes to her new job. Lue sees the world as "Bad guys do bad things so I do bad things to the bad guys" Luna just has to be sure to keep Lue from killing any of those bad guys. She can get carried away, she's kinda got that Serial Killer about to happen spark.
I hate when people make an original character and attatch them to another like "this is Sun Spot, she's an alien and is Booster Gold's girlfriend" But this is part of my own persional obsession with Batman. Both Luna and Lue are facinated by him. Luna in a "Oh he is a tortured soul he must be analized" kinda way. For Lue it's more of a "Hot damn he's tall, dark, sexy and I know he's gotta be a lil nuts." However nither have talked to him. They keep their distance, a lot of distance, like if he was walking down a hall and they saw him they would try to jump out the window and into the vacume of space before he saw them (or Lue would). I think they'd like to stalk him . . . I know I would . . . .

I wonder what Bats's reaction would be when he found out about this lil' girlie. He's always been a bit protective of Gotham, hence his relationship with Huntress.

She's harmeless to him really. One part of her just thinks he's interesting from a psychologicle level and the other half of her wants to rip his clothes off and keep him in a cage lol. But she'd never let him know it.

Given his relationship with the kitty Cat, he'd probably enjoy that!

Hey this character is soooo awesome. As an addictive Joker fan, I love the whole Arkham background, just genius. The design is bad ass too. She kinda looks like a Tim Burton character with the Warner Bros. style which is also genius. I like the pants and boots arrrgh..... everything.
I'd love to see her and Harley go at it in really crazy battle.

Honestly maybe I'm biased but I think she could kick harley's ass.
Really Tim Burton-Esque you say? *Tackels you to the ground with hugs and kisses* YOU ROCK I love Tim Burton. I can;t wait to see the Courp's Bride.
The Joker was always by favorite Batman villan. His unabound insanity was just . . . He's like a nuttier Hannibal Lecter. I didn't want it to look like I was trying to copy him and I don't think I did . .. did I? Nah . . . . wait . . . um . . . Oh look a bunny

Hey hey, cut it out..... *blushes profusely at hugs and kisses* .... really it's not a copy in any sense. More like you were merely inspired by him. I could be wrong. But nah very beautifully done.
Corpse Bride rocked by the way, but way too short.

How did you see it early??? It's not released till the 23rd. I even made a special trip to Hot Topic to purchase a t-shirt so I could wear it to the movie. I was going for a Nightmare Before Christmas shirt as an homage to good ole Tim (wore my batman shirt when I saw Charlie and the Choclate factory) but I couldn;t resist the black one that said "Tim Burtons The Corpse Bride" it had a wicked ass rave on it too. OH GAWD I sound like such a gurl. *pokes something with a sharp knife and begins the healing proscess*

Early? It was released here in New York City a week ago.
Plus I work in a movie theatre so I seen it the night before the actual release.
That's the only cool thing about the job.... I seen a few films almost month early as well.

Awwww, dont know why they did that, it's ruins the opening weekend gross $$$, but oh well
Its worth the wait!
Look at it this way, anytime you're in the NY area you have access to free movies via Rile9.
Oh yeah, I just checked out your site, WOW! The three characters stood out to me the most is Stark 2, Sari, and Stalker. They're really well designed and the shadowing and collar on stalker is awesome.

yeah I felt exactly the same. Like as soon as I was getting comfortable, it was at the last act. But I guess we could look forward to deleted scenes and outtakes on the dvd lol.

I really like her costume! Those boots rock my mismatched socks!
Ahem... now that I've gotten that bit of shallowness out of the way...
This is such an interesting idea, having a very obviously crazy superhero. And the character background you've written for Luna/Lue is very good, and creates an interesting train of thought about who is really using who; is Luna using Lue's violence and insanity as a weapon against evil, or did Lue simply use Luna's semblance of sanity as a way of getting out of Arkham? She'd be a very interesting character to see made into the show, precisely for the aura of danger and darkness she'd add to it.
PS: Thank you for the comment on Viper! I could just imagine the conversation the two (or three. Y'know, that would be really strange to think about if I wasn't used to drawing/writing Two-Face) of them.
"Hello."
"Hi."
"... I like your costume."
"Thanks. We like your snake."
"Hiiiiisssssss..."
"Van says 'Thank you.'"

I like to think of it more like Lou is using Luna to get out of arkham but it's sort of a tit for tat relationship. One needs the other I suppose.
Viper: "Hello."
Lunitic: "Hi."
Viper: "... I like your costume."
Lunatic: "Thanks. We like your snake."
Van: "Hiiiiisssssss..."
Viper: "Van says 'Thank you.'"
Lunatic: "No problem." Takes a drink of her tang "Hey, do you like riddels?"
