Hmm... I dunno. A lot of it looks pretty darned rubbery and/or plasticy. I mean, come on. Whatever program you're using, you should able to shade A LOT better than this
You're making MS Painters look like experts when it comes to texture.... no offense...
And no, this is not an attempt at flaming or trolling. I'm only trying to give you some advice on shading and I swear, that "archer" looks like he's wearing a rubber suit... =_=

I appreciate it that you took the time to view my drawings and are trying to give me advice, but I believe that there is a fine line between constructive criticism and criticism that does not foster any form of encouragement to do better but instead puts the artist down.
I however, am willing to listen and make improvements to my artwork even if the person is less skilled than I am, so long as they leave feedback in a courteous manner. Thank you ^_^
On a side note, this picture is really old... I'm surprised people still view this thing lol! I can see why you would say the shading looks rubbery, I hadn't had a lot of experience with photoshop during that time. But dang even so, I thought it was the coolest drawing ever when I finished ^.^

Heheh. Lol. I guess I went a bit overboard with this. Pardon me I get annoyed rather easily, I guess that's merely because I just have more basic tools... forgive me if I sounded harsh, I must be a bit more high-strung than usual today... hmm....
Oh, yes. About the shading. I would say that the best way would be to try and put some lines where you think/know the clothing should curve. I've done some kind of observing of actual clothing and maybe you should too... see how the material curves around objects and well, as for the metal... heheh I can't help you much with that, I myself am not a good metal person =_= but I guess you can figure that out... I think. The lighting, especially from glowing things, needs to cast some sort of 'lighter part' on whatever it's close to. As I said, fabric doesn't shine like rubber, it just looks a hell of a lot lighter than usual. So I guess you could work it so that it's not shiny-like-rubber, but light, like... normal clothing. Heh. I'm still working on stuff like this, only I'm using a pencil and notebook paper...
and again, sorry for any damage. That was pretty rash of me O_O
