Watercolor was my favorite medium in college and you're inspiring me to give it another go after a long hiatus from painting at all. Your work is beautiful and makes me excited to make art

For me it's the blend of blue-to-green-to-gold/russet that sells it.

Beautiful work, as always! The flow of color feels so natural. I especially like how you used that blue lighting to separate the forms of the birds from each other, and to add that 'cool' element to the center which helps gives good balance overall.

And I shall have ALL the colours! Gorgeous as ever Bren. You're really getting the hang of this form thing with the birds of late... everything feels like it has a lot of depth even with the more 'graphic' composition here. Also like that you were bold enough to have both the bird's heads by the edge of the picture plane... something about that creates a bit of emotional tension in the piece.

Jess commented on it being in the eye-bleeding stage and it never quite left. But I like jewel tones sometimes.
I was conflicted on keeping both heads to the right, but I figured with the amount of 'action' on the left (the bright white coming from between the wings, the leaves going off canvas), it would be okay. Glad you think so too!

Oh don't get me wrong, I love all the colours! You work so many shades in together really well because you're working all in warm tones so they all gel!
