Description The second painting in a series for Almonihah of Iolar throughout the eons. Here, he gazes sadly upon one of the ancient birds that did not survive the KT extinction event. While the atmosphere is choked with dust and haze, and the entire world seems to die, Iolar knows birds will live on, in a new, evolved form.

Watercolor on cold press paper, 9X12 inches.

I always wonder what it would be like if some versions survived to this day keeping those more primitive traits.

And by extension, dinosaurs will live on in a new evolved form. Birds are technically dinosaurs after all.

Thanks again for doing this! I enjoy thinking about how Earth's history would have affected Iolar--this time was definitely a life-changing event for him.

AWw, this is  really an image that affected me so that I started crying.  I look at this and all I can think of is how we have, and are; destroying our natural world and how that is causing the extinction of many species.  Big business and the rich don't care; and we every day citizens who love this home we live on that is orbiting in space haven't the resources to stop what is happening.  When the bees are gone, we will be on a downhill slide to extinction ourselves, (I believe).

Already with Monsanto, there are many plants that have been so corrupted, shall we say, that we can no longer grow food from the seeds after harvest.  That is one way to control the world's food supply and who eats and who doesn't.  Talk about population control.  It is pretty grim.  Your art is very impactful and I appreciate that you created this image.  It made me think and hopefully it will make others think as well!
