I've been playing Pokemon HeartGold (yes I know I'm years late :[ ) and got to the Celadon Game Corner! I remember having fun playing slots in Pokemon Red and Blue when I was a kid, so I went in and was surprised to see only a card game. Hmm......so I played it and got immediately hooked. Voltorb Flip is freaking addictive! And then, like any games that are about 70% strategy and 30% chance, I started getting mad at the game. :[ It's not like Minesweeper where you can calculate...sometimes you just have to guess.
I finally got to the fourth level, where I promptly lost and the damned game sent me back to the first level.
I wanted to flip a table. :[ I was so mad. Damned video games.
Apparently when I get mad I turn into a super saiyan ape.

Yep I know that feeling. In about 6 hours I got 9300 coins was on level 7 first tile voltorb. Back to level 1 and now my luck is so horrendous that 1 hour later i havent got out of level 1

I next to never played the slot machines in Pokemon and would just buy coins if I wanted to trade them for something, but now I get totally hooked on Voltorb Flip and end up playing it longer than I intend to when I get started. xD
The prospect of actually getting up to the next level in the game is just too motivating! I just about want to cry though when I get to level 4 and the first card I choose is a naughty little Voltorb. :c
I FEEL YOUR PAIN. And resist the urge to play Voltorb Flip now that you've reminded me of it.

At least you manage to get to Level 4! I never even got past Level 3 before the Voltorbs got me.

Lol this is great. I can never get past level 5.....the higher up you go, the more luck you need. And I have pretty bad luck when it comes to this game xD

I haven't reached that Celadon Game Centre in SoulSilver yet (I'm late too! LOL!), Voltorb Flip reminds me of Minesweeper...I hate that game

I love Voltorb Flip WAY more than stinking slots or roulette. At least there is SOME aspect of strategy, and it's not all luck. But yeah...getting to level 8 or so and then falling back to level 1...that is when I silently cry inside, just a little.

They took out slots because they didn't want to promote gambling (or the addictive-ness of it) so instead, they put in a game that is just as, if not more, addictive (I don't lose coins if I lose a game? COUNT ME IN... several hours later..)

My problem is, I get stuck. I use strategy (clicking on a box where both row and column have a a high number and low Voltorbs, for example) but I just seem to have crappy luck on the parts where you just have to pick a random card. :<

There was a site that helps calculate the best options depending on where the rows say voltorb are located...I don't remember it though.
