Description
The only thing I love more than cool autumn afternoons is summer thunderstorms.Β In fact, it's one of the few things I like about summer (which normally plagues me with heat, humidity, and scary parasitic insects ;-; ).Β The low rumble in the distance and darkening sky in the middle of the day is a sign for this little gryphon to snuggle up in her giant, magic, mossy Catalpa and wait for the light show to begin.Watercolor and a little colored pencil on cold-press paper, 8.5X9.5 inches

Thanks! I'm always excited when I hear the first rumblings of a storm approaching.

So beautiful, and that young gryphon looks so content.

I pretty much feel the same way about Summer (especially summers in Georgia). The ironic part is that the thunderstorms are the result of the heat and humidity which I dislike so much.

Same here!Β I love the thunderstorms but not the heat and humidity that comes with them Β And I spent a couple years in Georgia while I love their storms, I can't take their heat.

Me neither. That's why I fled north once I was done with school. I don't think I went far enough north though - the summers here can be pretty bad, though this year has been pretty mild.
I do miss the Georgia thunderstorms though.

Nothing quite like being able to use one's tail as a snuggly blankie. Well done, Bren.
By the way, your latest book arrived right on time, "shipshape and Bristol fashion" (a phrase not quite suited to avians; but otherwise appropriate).
