A tad thin but sturdy, his hair is a little bit of a mess and his facial hair is scruffy. He has dark circles under his eyes, and has fangs from his Pokemon form that he can't seem to get rid of. (I am not a vampire, he cries. Red eyes don't really help.) Grey hair strands have snuck into his dark hair. His suit has a collar that makes him look more like a vampire. Are you a vampire, Mr. Theo. He ensures he is not. He tends to wear those gloves most of the time, and even wears his owner's ring over them. Do you know how gloves work, Mr. Theo. He says he's not sure. That's pretty obvious. At least you don't have multiple heads like your Pokemon form. Anyway, his skin is a little worn, and his voice is pretty gristly. While working, he wears an apron and hairnet.

Theo is a gentle soul. Quite empathetic and understanding, he’s just a very grounded individual who takes life one step at a time. Very much a gentlemen, it’s very hard to discourage this guy. He is friendly, though a little unsure of approaching others, for he isn’t used to being around so many people. He also feels his “scary” appearance (human and Pokemon-wise) will drive people away. He is very trustworthy, but this also leaves him very easily manipulated. He is pretty gullible, as he lived a sheltered life, and the idea of betrayal is very foreign to him. He doesn't do well with stress and anger--if placed in a dangerous situation, he would not cope well. His age does account for some life wisdom, but there are still many things in life he has not experienced, and his age keeps him back a little from being adventurous. He is not one to discourage being rambunctious, but he will likely feel off put by anyone who is very hyper. As stated, he is very laid back--going for a walk with him will definitely result in him stopping at every flower to smell it. He is very forgiving, which can lead to good and bad things in his case. Despite his lax attitude, if driven to the point of anger beyond his restraint, it will let loose all what he has hidden inside. Though it'd probably just be a lot of yelling, it's still not very pretty.

With the recent death of his owner, Theo is also in grief, although at this point he is in denial.

History:

Theo was born in Victory Road, along with his other siblings. Though, his species aren’t really renowned for their nurturing skills, so he scampered off into the rocky cave. He can’t go into much detail of this time--he was young, blind, and reckless, and that’s about all he remembers. Not to mention, it’s hard to describe how things are when you’re blind as a bat.

He was eventually captured after being attacked by what he later found to be a Charizard (one whom he’d grow to dislike). He was brought to a lovely lady who was overjoyed to receive him as a gift from her husband. And so he was named Theodore, but often called just Theo, and he was quite the handful for the old family. The wife, Theo’s owner, was a sweet lady named Mara. She was in her late forties, then, and had lost her partner Pokemon tragically. Her husband, the owner of the Charizard, had caught Theo to cheer her up. That it did, although it took some years to calm the little rascal and stop him from chewing and biting everything.

Eventually Mara and Theo grew very close. She began battling again, and though in no professional setting, the two were a pretty good team. Through the battling Theo grew more powerful, and finally evolved into Zweilous. Around this time, the husband’s Charizard acted strongly against Theo. His name was Helios, he was a fairly old dragon, but very proud. He felt Theo was taking on his glory, and would challenge and bully Theo when neither owner was around. Theo, naturally, grew to dislike the fellow and would do his best to avoid him.

It became easier, but sadly due to unfortunate events. Mara’s husband passed away from a heart attack, which left her devastated. Now nearing her sixties, Theo did everything he could to comfort her during this trying time. Helios, meanwhile, disappeared. Theo never saw him again, and assumed the old Charizard went off to mourn on his own, and most likely passed away himself.

The battling soon ended after the husband’s death, although Theo managed to evolve his final time, and he was able to properly see. He says that day was both the best and worst day, and seeing was absolutely wonderful, but it would take him years to get used to it. He relied a lot still on smell and hearing to get around, and still does so a bit to this day. Mara, however, began deteriorating in health. Her old age, with her grief, and oncoming health problems just built up and up, and before long she was bedridden at the hospital. Theo was there at her side. Mara released Theo during this time, saying he didn’t need to stick around because of a Pokeball. Of course Theo stood by anyway. He was sleeping with his head on her chest when in the middle of the night she passed away. If asked about that morning, he says the cloud of grief is too much for him to recall.

He couldn’t stay at the hospital, and so he wandered out. He went back to Mara’s old apartment before it was stripped. He took one of her rings she used to wear in her youth, and left. He roamed the Kalos region for a while, unsure what to do, as he couldn’t fit in with wild Pokemon very well. He eventually found his way to the Pokemon Village, where he learned of a device that gave Pokemon a human form. He jumped at this instantly, and now lives in an apartment in Lumiose, looking to move on and make a new start for himself.

Extras:

He is a little weary of Pokemon of the Charizard line. His owner's husband had a Charizard that was not fond of him. He enjoys knitting and doing puzzles in his downtime. He's hoping to eventually learn and get license to drive a motorcycle (he loves the sound they make). He's also hoping to one day open up a little cafe of his own, after showing promise in cooking.

He made his way along the sun-baked streets of the city, happily humming to himself. He was grateful to be out in the open air--it gets so stuffy and hot in the Gallette stand, where he worked. On his way home now, he tipped his head up to look at what he could see of the sky. A bright afternoon of blue skies. He paused to marvel at it.

A shine caught his eye, and he glanced to his side. The water canal glittered in the sunlight, and for whatever reason he was drawn to it. He leaned down, slowly (he found his body a bit limiting nowadays...) and got a good look of the water. It was not crystal clear, and bits of litter thrown in carelessly floated on the surface, back and forth. Theo let out a small sigh and sat down next to the water, listening to it lap against the stone walls and the people behind him walking by.

He imagined seeing a fish down there, wriggling through the water. A Magikarp, or Goldeen, maybe. He remembered how his owner once said she wanted to take him fishing one day, but that was before her husband passed away. After that, they didn’t go outside much. It was nice to be in the sun more often now, but his heart ached at the thought. He smiled through it, though, and continued to watch the water.

He heard someone approach him, and he turned to see. A young boy holding a half-eaten Gallette stood next to him, looking like a mixture of confusion and intrigue. Theo adjusted himself to face the boy more comfortably.

“May I help you?” he said. His gristly voice came out even more like creaking wood after not being used for some hours.

“Ma bought this from you,” the boy said, “I saw you at the stand.”

Theo was happy that the boy wasn’t afraid of him--although he perhaps wasn’t the scariest creature, he constantly worried his appearance would scare people away. “Is that so? Where is your ma?”

The boy pointed to a nearby stand, selling jewelry. Theo nodded in understanding.

“What are you doing here?” the boy asked, almost demanded.

“Well, I’m off work now,” Theo replied.

The boy didn’t say anything, just took a bite out of the Gallette.

Theo turned to the water again. “Say, have you ever been fishing?”

“My dad took me when I was little,” the boy said.

“How is it?”

“Boring.”

Theo looked at the boy again, a little crestfallen. “Really?”

The boy didn’t respond as he turned and went to meet up with his mother, who called his name. Theo watched him join her and the two walk off into the crowds. He sighed again, and carefully eased himself to his feet. He looked at the water a last time, then continued his way back to his home.
