Here is a mockup I did about a month ago. In an alternate universe, Microsoft were developing this instead of Longhorn. It had a somewhat galactic theme and has a purple vortec as its wallpaper (similar to XP's Vortec space wallpaper, but darker and has stars). They were also making somewhat quick progress, as by late 2002 it already has a transparent taskbar and partially transparent start menu. It even had many new wallpapers, although many of them are reused from XP.

Its bootscreen is identical to XP but without the "XP". At this point Microsoft were not concerned about how the bootscreen would look, so it didn't even say "Codename( : ) Burst" on it.
