Description Ok guys, this is the finalized version, that will hopefully become a print

"as described in Rev 6:1-8.

First seal is opened : a white horse appears, its rider held a bow (conquest).

(Rev 6:1-8 NIV) I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, "Come!" {2} I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.

Second seal is opened : a red horse appears, its rider holds a sword (war)

{3} When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" {4} Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other. To him was given a large sword.

Third seal is opened: a black horse appears, its rider holds a pair of scales (famine)

{5} When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come!" I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. {6} Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, "A quart of wheat for a day's wages, and three quarts of barley for a day's wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!"

Fourth seal is opened : a pale horse appears, its rider is called Death

{7} When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, "Come!" {8} I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth."

It is done.

Lol they lost the riders of the apocalypse, that's embarrassing.

Seriously though, awesome work, I really like the style you used to colour/shade/draw. Reminds me sort of Velazquez, how he used light instead of lines [Las Meninas]. Anyway, totally awesome work that I wish I could say more about but I'm tired, and it's just wonderful.

I think this one looks better though the neck looks a bit.. thick. Great job. I figured it was the 4 horses of the Apocolypse befor I even read the description on the original picture which mean very good job I knew what you were doing and it was easily interpreted. ^^

I knew what this represented before I even looked at the first image. *wags tails*

I have to say this one is much better, though maybe make the black horse a bit blacker?

I suppose. See, one of the crappy things about my vision is that when there is something dark on a lighter background, the details in the darker thing become extremely hard for me to see. Think of how it is on a hazy day, that is very similar to how I see all the time. My point is that I can't often tell when something needs detail or whatnot.

Ah, I see. In truth the picture doesn't need anything, it's phenomenally good. But I can see your point, I have a bright monitor, so maybe it's darker than what I'm seeing. It's perfectly okay if you can't tell, I wouldn't be able to tell you're nearly blind just by looking at your art. *hug*

I don't know. I like this one better, but now his neck looks a little thick?

I like the new one better. Gives it a more 'free spirit' feel, since the horses aren't disturbed by the viewers (since the old one was lookin right at ya.. kinda made him look like he was thinking "HUMAN?!" lol)

derangedpotato [2006-02-22 06:27:41 +0000 UTC]

I think I like this one better since there is only one horse looking directly at the viewer. Now the white horse commands a much stronger presence. Beatutiful work!

I like this one just a little better, but its a close call. I liked how the black horse was staring at you, but I think it looks better overall this way so that it doesn't distract form the piece as a whole. You could try adjusting the eye a bit to make it more like the brown horse, but that's just a thought.

I like the original black horse better, in the context of the piece. With it looking at you, it seems much more... eerie, you know?

KitNightwing [2006-02-21 13:30:21 +0000 UTC]

I think this one is much better, the direction and flow of the picture is smoother with the horse looking off to the right

I like this one more too. But it's softer than other horses, which is a bit image-destroying.

I like this one better, the other had too much "eyes looking at the viewer" thing. Great work overall!!

scrii [2006-02-21 07:05:30 +0000 UTC]

I like the head of this one better, but I liked the mane in the other one better... the one in this one seems too... thick? Try making them seem like they're in clumps (not really obvious clumps though) so that some spaces show through

Brooklyn-Wyvern [2006-02-21 07:05:13 +0000 UTC]

I like the new one. gives it more direction. The previous version made it look like he was staring at the viewer, yet trying to run a completely different direction. Being a (multiple) horse owner, this is physically not possible. Good job on both, but this one is better.
