Description
This was my second double-tiered necklace, made possible by the extra hole in the two large green onyx beads. It was not easy threading this, believe you me. The two big green beads each had an extra hole drilled into them perpendicular to the main shaft but only going half way through. I used two separate strands of tiger tail, and threading the perpendicular shaft was quite difficult. The lighter green stones might be aventurine; it's been so many years since I made this that I don't remember at this point. This is one of the first pieces I ever posted on dA, though I made it long before. The last three photos above are brand new, taken October 20th, 2013. I remain very proud of this piece, and this picture of it, taken via a scanner of all things, long before I had access to digital cameras. There's a good reason it features on my front page.

No problem! I've always been interested in anything related to Egypt - such as the ankh symbol. (:

My wife really enjoys that symbol; I wear one on one of my top hats, also, converted from an old money clip:

Thank you! It was a a devil of an effort getting it strung like that; the big green onyx beads there had a perpendicular shaft that went half way through and met the main one. I have two more of those I need to turn into something at some point.

It remains one of my wife's favorite necklaces, I am happy to say, even if I do "Monk" at her and feel the urge to adjust the beads just so when she wears it.

Thank you. This is one of my wife's favorite pieces I ever made for her (she's wearing it this very moment!). The stringing of the large green onyx beads to get that double-strand in the middle was very difficult, I might add. I have two more beads like those, and am considering how to use them still.
